It would be neat if Hatch (R) and the t-partier split the vote and a Democrat wins
It didn't work out that way in Alaska in 2010 so I doubt very much it would happen in Utah, the most Republican state in the country. Besides any Democrat you would get in Utah would just be a DINO anyway. I honestly don't know why Jim Matheson doesn't just switch parties because he is always a de facto vote for the GOP in the House on pretty much every issue anyway.
In any case, isn't Hatch's TP challenger running against him in the primary?
