Tea Party or Main Street: Who Rules?

"Main Street" is made up of people, individuals, with their own views on politics - some will be conservatives, others will be liberal, most will be more concerned with keeping their business afloat, putting food on the table, and keeping their homes, than caring about much else.

This ridiculous bitching about "Main St" or "Wall St" or any other attempt to lump people into groups is pathetic.

Main Street typically refers to people who are not idealogues. Tea Partiers are idealogues.

No, they aren't. They are just Americans who happen to believe in certain principles. They are no different to you. Irrational fear is stupid... whether it is Muslims, or your fellow Americans that you fear.

Fear has nothing to do with anything I'm talking about. Tea Partiers are right wing idealogues. It's a fact. There may be exceptions, that's the rule.

There's a couple problems with this post.

The Rally in DC was not a TEA party rally and it was over 100k. Everyone with any sense of the truth knows that.

TP people are mostly working class, making them part of Main St.

The site you linked in blatantly biased, so it is a questionable source.

Do you have a link to people that count crowds as part of thier profession?

The rally in DC was, though, organized by a fringe idealogue personality.

And how does that change the fact that the link and op are full of lies?

You do know that MLK's daughter was there?

You do know that MLK's I have a Dream speech explicitly endorsed bits of Socialism and Social Justice

Police in Madison estimated yesterday's protest (3/13/11) as the biggest in city history, eclipsing "even those during the Vietnam War."

"But yesterday's rally in Madison is noteworthy because at 85,000-100,000, it was bigger than the biggest tea party protest, the September 12, 2009 rally in Washington, D.C., which turned out only an estimated 60,000-70,000."

Which side are you on?

Scott Walker and Wall Street?

Or Main Street?

In the states of New Jersey and Georgia, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio middle class workers are demanding shared sacrifice. Republican governors in all those states counter by cutting taxes on the rich and corporations while demanding fee increases and wage concessions from the middle.

Main Street Movement is dedicated to stopping the double standard.

"ASSAULT ON THE MIDDLE CLASS: While Walker's assault on his state's public employees' labor rights is the most visible assault on the middle class, conservative governments across the country are waging similar campaigns.

"In Ohio, Gov. John Kasich (R) is backing legislation similar to Wisconsin's in that would gut the organizing rights of public employees. Kasich has already killed his state's federally-funded high-speed rail project, which will cost Ohio $400 million in infrastructure investment and thousands of jobs. While he justifies these moves by claiming he's tackling his state's deficit, he also is championing a slew of tax cuts that could actually double the state's deficit.

"New Jersey's Gov. Chris Christie (R), who previously vetoed progressive efforts to raise taxes on his state's millionaires, is trying to ram through steep cuts to education funding and municipal assistance.

"In Georgia, Gov. Nathan Deal (R) has unveiled cuts to the state's treasured subsidized college tuition program, HOPE, which would lead to hundreds of thousands of college students paying thousands of more dollars out-of-pocket in order to be able to get a higher education.

"Deal is also cutting overall education spending by seven percent, and he simultaneously plans to dramatically reduce the corporate income tax rate, further reducing the state's revenue coffers.

"Gov. John Hickenlooper (D-CO) has dismissed tax increases while simultaneously slashing funding for K-12 education, because, he argued, 'That's where the money is.'

"Michigan's Gov. Rick Snyder (R) has unveiled a spending plan that includes '$1.2 billion in cuts to schools, universities, local governments and other areas while asking public employees for $180 million in concessions' while at the same time giving $1.8 billion in tax cuts to businesses."

The average anti-war protest during the Bush Regime dwarfed any TEA Party protest to date.

They got little to no coverage.

Thanks Corporate Media.
So far most of the populist rage to Wall Street's latest pillage has been co-opted by corporate interests.

If the Main Street Movement is what it claims to be, that could be about to change.

Million of Americans, conservatives and liberals, have lost their homes and jobs and maybe for the first time in history they have the tools to tell them who to blame.

Global class war isn't possible without the internet.

Now it is.

Cutting government worker pay is shared sacrifice. Guess the unions say fuck you when it's thier turn. I mean how dare the working poor not want to pay for union salaries, pensions and vast benefits? How fucking dare they stand up against the unions?

You link a biased site that was full of lies.

You support the unions and say fuck you to non-union workers.

And you know what? From one working poor shlub to you union maggots.

That's cool, stick to your guns and keep calling people that point at the Constitution 'idealogues', it just shows me that you want the government to nanny you.

No, I'm calling the tea party idealogues. They are. They're "Conservatives," in the political spectrum. Most of the Country, what I'd say is "Main street?"

Non-political.

It is what it is.

I don't care if you think I want the Government to Nanny me. I don't have a guilty conscience about the work I do, the people I support and the taxes I pay.

It wasn't the police, it was thier union spokesman.
The count was not a professional count or you would have linked it by niow
it wasn't a TP rally, even GT admitted that
And it was well over 70k, everyone with a childs level of learning knows that that claim is a lie.

You are lying.

And you want to fuck the working class to support the unions.

So once again;

Fuck you asshole.

Who is behind the assault on the US middle class?

"While Walker's assault on his state's public employees' labor rights is the most visible assault on the middle class, conservative governments across the country are waging similar campaigns.

Right, reducing the burden of taxes is an assault on the middle class. At least you have found love, my friend. "Oh, when I look into your deep loving eyes, I am in bliss, my beloved government..."

People who want more from the government always outnumber people who want less.

Do you prefer being screwed by the rich?

The Governor of Michigan is cutting $1.2 billion from schools, universities and local government as well as asking for $180 million in concessions from public employees while at the same time giving $1.8 billion in tax cuts to businesses.

Are you enamored of Wall Street?

People who want more from the government always outnumber people who want less.
The richest 1% of Americans have increased their "fair" share of national wealth by ten percent since 1979.

They accomplished this feat primarily by bribing Republicans AND Democrats to write favorable tax policy.

Are they expecting too much from government?

Or not enough?

There's a simple solution: flat taxes and no government subsidies, pork, bailouts etc. If there is nothing to gain from a bribe, then the politicians are far less likely to be bought.

Government is NOT giving them money. They are merely being allowed to keep more of what is theirs.

"all money earned" is not "all theirs," that's not how Countries are run. So they're not "keeping more of what's theirs," they're "paying less taxes."

When Countries cost $0.00 to run, THEN, it's ALL theirs. They don't live in such a Country.

The Main Street Movement that's currently on the rise across the country specifically targets those they claim are waging war on the US middle class.

[/B]

I'm unaware of any Tea Party speakers who've voiced the same concerns.

Just because you call it "Main Street" doesn't make it Main Street. You can call a mule a horse, too, til hell freezes over, but at the end of the day, it's still a mule; and at the end of the day, this little movement of yours looks more like "Red Square" than "Main Street" to me. Try again, Trotsky.

I prefer taking responsible for my own life and won't participate in either your shirking your responsibility to run your life or your sanctimonious efforts to blame someone else for your problems through wealth envy and greed they have more then you and dump your issues on them.

Liberty is the right to do what you want, it is also the responsibility to take responsibility for yourself. In the end, your wealth greed will destroy the economy and take you down with it. It's justice for you and your ilk, but not for anyone else.

Yet you posted the following...

The TEA Parties are Main Street, you moron.

Still, please do carry on making a total fool of yourself. It's fun to watch.

You seem to lurch from one extreme to the next...interesting.
