On ESPN the other day I watched a special on Rocky Bleier. In it he goes back to Vietnam where he had been wounded in both legs after having been drafted despite already starting a season with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He tells how he almost lost his legs but was determined to play again. He of course did. Feeling a need to go back to where he was wounded and where his friends died he makes the trip to Vietnam.

He asks "what did we accomplish? what was all of this for"? It was a complete waste and we accomplished nothing. Rocky learned but we never have.
