Jordan was actually elated in refusing Israel's offer to return the West Bank so they could sacrifice that piece of land to dump their Palestinians on Israel. King Hussein knew Palestinian mentality well. Very well indeed as proven by giving the Palestinians Black September which resulted in the one & only lasting peace from the Palestinians.
