Cast Iron Dutch Oven, and I season it with Lipton dry onion soup mix. (GASP) Big onion cut into chunks, baby carrots, some red wine, pepper, Bay leaf. I've found browning is unnecessary. 350 for 15, 250 for 1 hour, 225 for 3 hours. Squashed Yukon Gold taters on the side.
