As I understand it, Trump will have to answer the questions. Bill tried to dodge Ken Starr but the SCOTUS didn't buy it. Trump would have to take the 5th for each question, no blanket plea would be allowed. The campaign commercials just write themselves.

As for the accusation of fishing, these seems to be very specific question and I bet each comes from evidence or testimony already gotten by Mueller.

Are you SURE you would prefer the Mueller investigation conclude and give its findings without the President's input? You sure about that?
/----/ Yes. It would be suicide for the POPE to answer these gotcha questions, even more so for Trump.
Well, his lawyers are the ones who wrote them, so where does "gotcha" come from? The fact that Trump can't answer them or that he has already lied about them?

As I understand it, Trump will have to answer the questions. Bill tried to dodge Ken Starr but the SCOTUS didn't buy it. Trump would have to take the 5th for each question, no blanket plea would be allowed. The campaign commercials just write themselves.

As for the accusation of fishing, these seems to be very specific question and I bet each comes from evidence or testimony already gotten by Mueller.

Even if I had nothing to hide, I would refuse to answer the questions. The reason? It is impossible to prove a negative, no one has ever been able to do so. So all you can ever do in talking to Prosecutors, is talk your way into trouble. You can never talk your way out. So never answer any questions is the wisest thing anyone can ever do.

You mean Trump should take the 5th? There are plenty of Trump quotes saying only gangsters take the 5th. Was he wrong?

Yes. Any lawyer ten minutes out of passing the BAR will tell you not to talk to cops.

This lawyer says she spends most of her time defending people from their own stupidity.

I won’t tell a cop where he can find the bathroom.

If trump runs in 2020 he'll be running against himself, the commercials will write themselves. Classic Trump but his supporters won't care.

So you want to see the Democrats lose again? I was hoping to see a worthy candidate to vote for.

Explain to me how the pundits argued it on the news. Sure, you put the add out. Then what? Even liberal pundits short of rabidly hypocritical will admit that everyone has the right, and what legal expert will say that Trump should not have the same rights as anyone else?

Trump won’t even have to write a tweet to beat it. Just like or retweet one of the hundreds from lawyers who say that nobody should talk to the cops. Worst case is that a nation conversation gets fired up about the civil rights. Now, how do Democrats argue in favor of civil rights while arguing that trump should have none?

Best case for Trump would be the Democrats end up looking like hypocrites. Focusing on the petty while ignoring the important issues. Then what? Do the Democrats all sign a pledge to never use the fifth amendment?

If you want to run. First tackle anyone who says that Hillary should be the candidate. Second. Focus on the issues and force Trump to respond to you. Finally, use a tranquilizer dart on anyone who tries to get Gun Control to be a plank on the platform. Democrats will have an excellent chance at victory.

I see an ad with Trump on one side saying how gangsters love the 5th, while on the other side Trump taking the 5th.
I see an ad with Trump on one side saying how Mexico will pay for the wall while on the other side Trump demanding billions from Congress.
I see an ad with Trump on one side saying he has a great plan for healthcare everyone will love, how he'll renegotiate trade deals, how he knows more than the generals, etc.

Hopefully the Dems will find a decent candidate that won't make absurd promises.

For twenty years I’ve been begging Democrats to run on issues. For all that time I’ve begged them to forget the nonsense and just run on issues. Every single election in that time has been easily described. We suck, but they suck more, way more.

The ads you are talking about are a continuation of that trend. We suck, but they suck worse.

Stop looking for revenge over whatever nonsense you think is intolerable. Run on issues. I voted for Clinton, twice. I reluctantly voted for Gore. Al Gore who couldn’t pass the salt without claiming he invented it. I voted for Kerry who could put an insomniac into a coma in five minutes flat. I voted for Obama, but I walked away from Hillary. It was not her turn. Furthermore I walked away from the Democrats entirely after the Hillary Corruption spilled over onto the party as a whole.

I became distressed about the Democrats when Bush went with drugs for seniors and Democrats opposed it. What? Taking care of Seniors had been a party mantra for fifty years, and they would rather oppose it than agree with a Republican. That is but one in a long list of examples. The Democrats sacrificing every Moderate and saying good riddance as they lost the majority.

Run on the issues, and govern on the issues. It’s worked before. It can work again.

I agree with most of what you've said but to have an honest discussion about issues you first need honesty. If a candidate makes absurd promises, promises that everyone should know are impossible but accept, you can't have an honest discussion. I don't think the electorate holds candidates to a very high bar. We accept lies and secret plans and promises. We get the candidates, campaigns, and government we deserve.

I’m fifty years old. For my entire life that has been the case. Literally. The first election for me was Bush and Dukakis. Dukakis was painted as soft on crime and the entire Democratic Party has rushed out to kiss more cops than Republicans in an effort to get rid of the label. Bush said read my lips no new taxes.

Clinton won partially on the broken promise of Bush. But Clinton turned around and broke that same promise.

Why did Clinton get away with it when Bush didn’t? The appearance that he had honestly tried. Well that and the Republicans put up their own Kerry in the form of Dole. Clinton’s greatest accomplishments are things we denounce now. Welfare reform. What the ever loving hell is wrong with job training for poor people to give them a shot at a better life? We aren’t talking about slave labor camps or sweatshops. We are talking about job training for a better life. Education was once our mantra, but apparently not if the education is for skilled labor instead of college degrees in Sanskrit.

This is another example of what I mean when I say the Democrats have made it hard for moderates. Hard? Perhaps impossible is a better way.

In my district in Georgia we had a moderate Blue Dog Democrat. We had a Democrat in Congress from Rural Georgia. Very rare. When it was pointed out that votes and action or even threats to pass some legislation was dangerous to the Moderates the Liberals laughed and said good riddance to the DINO’s.

In the show West Wing. Josh is talking to Leo and says “We’re Democrats. We’re dumb, but we’re not that dumb.”

Yeah. We are. We are so dumb that we forgot that we were the big tent. We forgot that Democratic Party meant we were interested in fairness and liberty. We wanted to error slightly more on the fairness side, but compassion was our thing.

We cared about liberty once. We cared about giving people a chance. We cared about a lot of things. Now, all we care about is destroying the Republicans. We don’t care what happens to the people. We don’t give a damn about the union workers and blue collar joe six pack. We told them that their jobs were gone and never coming back. Then the leaders were shocked that the Blue Wall crumbled.

Do you want to know why Trump won? Democrats took him literally but not seriously. The voters took him seriously but not literally. Democrats spent more time mocking him the same way they mocked the people they had turned their backs on. The people saw a kindred spirit. Another of the deplorable’s just like them. The God, guns, and pick up truck class.

But even now we see the same mistakes. The party that ran the least honest primary in history is complaining that Trump isn’t honest. We suck, but they suck more. Perhaps it will work this time. If so, it won’t for long.

If you are going to demand that Trump be taken literally then first you have to make sure you are taking yourself literally. Otherwise the God and Guns set will remember when Jesus told his followers to stop being hypocritical asses.

You have to live it before you can pronounce it as what truly matters.

Hell I would not want to answer them. loaded questions are a part of the Legal system. Like have you quit using drugs. (drugs any thing that can affect you) Any answer is a lie. in most questioning of suspect. Therefore you should never answer any question without several attnys who like you.

I have never seen more land mines in a list of questions in front of a bunch of sleaze bag attnys in my life. I would never appear let a lone sit in front of a panel of bad guys and be eaten alive. Would you.?
