Study: Readmision Risk for Seniors

Hi Everyone,

I have been looking for some inputs that can be used to study the major readmission causes for seniors. My research resulted with two major causes being 1. Missing appointments and 2. Falls. I would like to have some inputs that can further help me concluding the study. I appreciate your help. Thanks.

You need to elaborate (if you are serious).

Readmissions are, by definition, the result of a premature hospital discharge. Thus, a study of readmissions would have to be limited to cases where a subsequent admission is FOR THE SAME CAUSE as the first admission, whether that would be pain, dizziness, fainting, nausea, or what have you.

Conceivably, a fall could be related to a prior admission/discharge, if the fall is the result of the same problem that resulted in the first admission (maybe low BP/fainting).
