The National Guard is a state-based military force that becomes part of the reserve components of the United States Army and the United States Air Force when activated for federal missions. A reserve component is not the same as federal military. West was inducted into the State Guard at a baseball game. I'm not aware of any real military personnel inducted as a publicity stunt at a ball game.

Are you trying to say Gregg Abbot didn't consider party loyalty when he appointed his longtime friend as new Adjutant General in March of this year after problems with Operation Lone Star at the Texas border?
