It is a big deal. You gave away your rights in the army. We didn't.

Oh yea, they said on the Ron Reagan show too that all you are going to find is pot smokers if you drug test, because most drugs leave the system in a couple days. Maybe the person isn't buying the pot. Ever think of that?

Also, what about the kids? Dad may smoke a joint. That doesn't mean let the kids go without food.

PS. If we are collecting unemployment, we earned it. We paid into it. So we deserve it, no matter what we spend the money on.

I dont give two hots and a cot if you use your own money to buy weed thats a personal decision. But when you take money from people under the pretense that you are buying food and paying rent and utilities then buy drugs with it you got the money dishonestly. I am helping fellow Americans who are going through hard times not funding drug habbits with my tax dollars. You dress it up however you like but the bottom line is you advocate using tax dollars to fund the purchase of illegal substances and that to me is unnacceptable.

If you want to talk about disability, you can start that conversation.

Sorry bud, my argument applies to all programs: unemployment, welfare, food stamps, AND disability. Any government program should require random drug testing. Actually, I'm more in favor of drug testing for unemployment and welfare than any others, because those are incomes in lieu of actual work performed. And if workers can be randomly tested, so can these deadbeats.

Workers are tested for safety reasons, not for payroll reasons. Payroll doesn't decrease with positive drug test, soemone else just takes the job. And the same will be true for public assitance, for that matter. Someone will come along to fill the hole left by a user. We will pay the same for food stamps, plus the cost of testing.

You, and many others, have a personal axe to grind. Has no place in justifying cost. If you think you're tired of paying for welfare, wait to you get a load of paying for welfare drug testing.

The argument isn't about whether it's right or wrong to use drugs or recieve welfare. Those are strawmen. Drugs are illegal. No one should be using. We pay for enforcement of that. The question is the economic viability of testing.

Indeed, thats the point: to give money to someone who is not going to use their personal resources to buy drugs. Way to hop on board!

ps, one pot smoker off the tax payer tit IS reduced cost. It's not as if the person filling the void of the tax payer all of a sudden needed food stamps because their was a slot open.

and no, the QUESTION is the integrity of the FS program and what tax money is used to supplement. sorry, i'm not interested in paying taxes so pot heads can have money for a sack.

Tippers are great but I get $125 an hour to perform. Busking is the icing on the cake.
