All programs do this. There is no manner in which such a program could do otherwise than what is accused.
And the accusation: they distort the free market. Now, looking at what that term means and looking at the world, free market exists in economics textbooks, but not on earth.
But, allowing the term 'free market' as a metaphor about U.S. economics, what is distortion? The movement of capital? There are always results of movement. Calling that distortion hardly seems apt. And, if it were a free market, any capital movement would have to be at least lubricant for following actions.
So, no program can be advantageous?
Movement in the market is distortion rather than simply result?
A free market is where corporations making unbelievable net profits per second compete with everyone else for the ear of representative government, and always get it?
The famous quotation says that if socialists understood economics, they wouldn't be socialists, and that might be so.

Comparing private schools to public schools is a poor comparison.

Private schools spend far MORE per student than public schools. There are no shortages of text books, computers and other resources for the students. There are much smaller class sizes and students get more individual attention. And they don’t take students with special needs or who are struggling either academically or socially. Trouble makers are bounced.

Similarly, the students have more home resources than poor kids. Access to Wifi isn’t an issue for them, and the parents will get tutoring if the child is struggling.

Spending per student in private schools is about 1/2 of that of public schools. This is because of bloated bureaucracy. Government institutions waste money in case you haven’t figured that out yet. Public schools in my area have more access to computers and text books for ”free”. In private schools, parents must foot the bill for a Chromebook. In public sschools, they are given one for free. Private schools do tend to have smaller class sizes. Private schools most certainly take children who have special educational needs, in fact, many parents opt to send their children with special education needs to private schools because they get more one on one time.

I agree that comparing the performance of private school kids vs public school kids is tough due to external factors such as their home life, parental support, etc.

My children attend private school and we live in an area where they aren’t less likely to be indoctrinated or influenced by the woke crowd. If we lived in a heavily blue area, there would be absolutely no question. I would home school before sending my kids to be brainwashed by the woke left during their formative years.

With very few exceptions in very few areas, all education today is expensive indeed. As for money, the product we see issuing from Institutes of Mass Education represents an almost entire waste. The psychological, psychic and emotional costs can't be counted. The young are not being prepared for today, much less for what is coming.
Academic subjects are important for a young mind. More essential is that mind knowing about that mind. How does it function? What affects it? What can it effect? How does one deal with internal dialog, imagination, fixations? We know more about all this today than ever, and we are not using our knowledge wisely.

Every citizen in America needs to be tested immediately. Not for covid-19; they need to take an IQ test. For decades cognitive scientists have been aware of a dangerous drop in IQ scores among western countries. The Flynn Effect had generally been credited with rising IQ scores due to better nutrition and emerging technologies but after 1975 It has been observed that IQ scores are dropping, some by as much as 14 points, enough to equal a decline of a full standard deviation.

Social science is struggling to explain the drop in raw IQ scores and environmental factors are coming to the forefront as the culprit, but drugs, alcohol and automobile exhaust cannot sufficiently account for the neural degradation evident in a population that destroys cities while leadership condones the practice to appease rioters and looters. There has to be some other factor and that factor could be modern education.

Education in the US began mutating to indoctrination almost as soon as Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society got underway. It was quickly discovered by the state that a captive audience of school children was the perfect propaganda platform for brainwashing. But jazz handing first graders are the least of the dangers we face today due to the transition of American education from mind expansion to thought control.

In order to maintain a functioning democracy, it is necessary for citizens to have at least a basic awareness of what a democracy is and how important fundamental family units are as a defense against the state. The first act of the state after the implementation of the Great society was to attack family units promulgating a pandemic of single parent households to strengthen the state and weaken individual independence.

As state bureaucracies multiplied by cellular division the intelligence of the population declined to levels where human atavism now mobs urban centers. The state has created a zoo of hateful and toxic cerebrally damaged animals that wait for flashpoints like George Floyd and erupt into hooliganism in allegiance to the state.

America’s white population is now in the crosshairs of the state as identity politics sweeps the nation like a plague worse than any virus. White leadership and policing in American cities now positions itself like Nazi collaborators in the 1930’s. As American intelligence drops the state rises.
