Coincidentally, a "Round Eye" recently surpassed S. Oh's single-season home run record - one that had at least as much significance to Japanese as the Bambino's record did in the U.S. until 1961. And the Japanese public seemed to accepted it without major protest.

On the positive side, it is comforting to know that the Japanese realize that people with tattoos are degenerates.

First of all, nobody says "round eye." Second, there is some - just some - discussion as to whether the new 'livelier' ball just introduced into Japanese pro baseball may have made Balentien's accomplishment a little easier. Previously, two other foreign players had tied Oh's record but were then subsequently walked every time they came up to bat so they couldn't break it.
