along with the chromed bore and chamber, low recoil, handiness, etc, more than make up for the M4's not being good on big game beyond Ky Rifle range. Said range sufficed for millions of people for centuries, continues to be 5x the range potential needed for bowhunters.

No, the M4 won't hit birds, or claybirds in the air. So what? There's no need of such. i"ve taken a truckful of geese, pheasant and ducks with a .22 handgun over the years and had I been really trying, with a silenced .22 autorifle, it would have totaled a trainload. It's just not that hard to sneak up on a flock of same while they feed, or call/decoy them in and let them land before starting to pick them off.

As a kid, I shot a LOT of doves and quail "on the sit" with a .22 rifle. The lack of noise with a silencer does amazing things for your ability to harvest many such, with almost no more effort than the first one that you harvest.
