Should we bring back the draft?

The Masters don't need a draft, thank you very much.

When they need it, no doubt they'll have it in place in a matter of weeks.
When the Draft ended Draft Boards did not.

The Selective Service System wants you to know that the requirement to register for the military draft did not go away with the end of the Vietnam War. Under the law, virtually all male U.S. citizens, and male aliens living in the U.S., who are ages 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service.

Men who do not register could be prosecuted and, if convicted, fined up to $250,000 and/or serve up to five years in prison. In addition, men who fail to register with Selective Service before turning age 26, even if not prosecuted, will become ineligible for: Student Financial Aid, U.S. Citizenship, Federal Jobs and Federal Job Training.

This is true, I did the selective service thing in my final year of high school.

The problem with a draft is that it is more difficult for a president to invade nations without good cause. At least that should have been the lesson we learned from Vietnam. With a volunteer army the president has much greater latitude to create small presidential type wars.

Iraq and Afghanistan are small presidential type wars? You are a complete idiot. Your thoughts are delusional.

Why is it that all the experts on war have never set foot on a field of battle?

One important lesson that you are clueless about was this nations failure to separate the warrior from the Vietnam from the War.

This has not happened again. Those of us who fought in Vietnam have not permitted it to.

C 1/4 USMC Vietnam 67-68 Infantry Fire Team Leader.

I am using presidential wars in contrast to wars declared by Congress as per the Constitution, and presidential wars are those that the president decides to use troops with no declaration of war.
Your item on being clueless was not very clear.
