Should LA be evacuated before the earthquake ?

I ain't leavin.....unless they close Pink's.....

then, maybe....

Still have Tommy's!

Never been to Pinks, but I used to pig out at Tommy's sometimes. There was also a drive-in on Wilshire called "Delores's" which had great hotdogs.

I tried Delores's once but Pinks is definately the king when it comes to dogs. But I still prefer my Tommys double cheese burger with chili and a chili cheese fry! Yum!

If you have loved ones who are in known earth quake zones in California alert them to the likelihood of an earthquake in the next few days.

i have been here since 67......we hear about quakes every day......there is a shaker somewhere just about every day.....the great majority are so small no one but the Cal Tech people know about them.....biggest i was in was the 92 one which was 6.7....and that was a mother.....i can imagine what a 8 or 9 pointer would be like....

It's true that Californians eventually become immune to the little shakers after awhile. But when I lived there, we also got so we could sense even the smallest shudder. I remember when I first moved back to Vermont in 1979, I felt a tremor early in the morning once, and when I got to work asked people if they'd felt it. They all thought I was just being paranoid, coming from California, but lo and behold, a 3.4 lasting only a few seconds was reported later on the 6 o'clock news.

Don't do that to me!!! Do they still give you a stack of napkins?

Take as many as you need! They are now a Coca Cola shop as well which I allways preferred over Pepsi. My wife and I are trying to eat a meal at every Tommys there is. We even have two down in the Vegas to try out when we get the chance.

I haven't lived in LA for so many years, I didn't know there was more than one. The original was downtown LA, seriously downtown, where all the important offices USED to be before more prestigious addresses were sought in the Beverly Hills/Century City area.

From what I understand, the quake in Japan did not damage or cause these reactors to be in the position they are in. I've heard that this situation is being more credited to the tsunami. Is this correct? If so, I'd be more worried about nuke plants directly near the water rather than plants somewhat near a fault line.

There are now over 47 Tommy's throughout SoCal and two locations in Nevada. The original is at the corner of Whittier and I think Durfee right downtown and I have eaten many a meal there! Only problem is they don't serve fries there it's still only potato chips and the burgers and dogs like when they got started.

Evacuate?

You people are sort of spinning FEMA fantasies as though you don't have a clue about logistics.

To where exactly does one send over 22 million people to wait out the possibility of an earthquake?

Its population encompasses a total of five metropolitan areas: Los Angeles, Riverside-San Bernardino, San Diego, Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura and the El Centro area. Out of these, three are major metropolitan areas; the Los Angeles area with over 12 million inhabitants, the Riverside-San Bernardino area with over 4 million inhabitants, and the San Diego area with over 3 million inhabitants. Two of the largest conurbations in California are also located here, the Los Angeles urban area with 14,775,000 people and the San Diego urban area with 2,880,000 people. The region as a whole houses nearly the population of Texas, with more than 22.4 million people,

Don't be silly. He's hoping California suffers a major earthquake so he can blame Obama.

You might try "illegal alien" friendly Illinois. Home of Obama, Dick Durbin, and Luis Gutierrez, the three stooges.

How about Texas with stopovers in Arizona? (Papers please?)

FYI this EVENING I am informed we can expect to see a "super perigee FULL moon.

Reportedly it ought to be the brightest fill moon in the last 17 years

The last full moon so big and close to Earth occurred in March of 1993.

Obviously if one believes gravity is going to cause earthquakes, then tonight or today would be an excellent time for them to happen.

It's the end of the world!
