This is a consumerism-philosophy debate between Shiva (Hindu god of destruction) and a hypothetical pirate named Brownbeard.

This debate was inspired by Greedy.

Cheers,

SHIVA: Piracy creates images of exploitation...
PIRATE (BROWNBEARD): Self-gratification is natural!
SHIVA: Capitalism is a modern system promoting negotiation.
PIRATE: There's nothing 'stupid' about gambling...
SHIVA: Gambling creates too much speculation.
PIRATE: No one can control risk!
SHIVA: Too much bravado makes for childish behaviours.
PIRATE: Everyone appreciates derring-do!
SHIVA: There's a difference between adventurousness and recklessness.
PIRATE: The modern world is all about treasure (Wall Street).
SHIVA: Gold-diggers are simply spokespersons of escapism.
PIRATE: Without piracy, we'd have fewer folk-tales about Wanderlust.
SHIVA: Mapping/charting is not the same as colonialization.
PIRATE: You're merely talking about anxiety...
SHIVA: Networking requires mature risk-calculation!
PIRATE: Forgive me for not refraining from 'gambling' on Wall Street...
SHIVA: We have to curb 'labor-slang' (e.g., drunk-driving).
PIRATE: I fail to understand the 'complete idealism' towards consumerism.
SHIVA: Consumerism-idealism is as basic as artisanship (e.g., Boardwalk Fries).
PIRATE: Maybe someday Facebook-culture will seem well-organized.
