Let's lay our cards on the table lefties. You have been dealing from the bottom of the deck for years. First of all battery technology is in the stone age. Windmills are killing migratory birds and solar panels are junk. It's all about politics. One thing you can count on is that the current crisis in Egypt will raise gas prices and gas and diesel prices will do what ....economy 101 students? That's right it will have an impact on everything we consume. In a world without political intrigue we would say "dig baby dig" but in a world currently dominated by lying crooks we see stupid posts about battery technology that either has no impact or is too expensive or is in the "development" stage while the administration policies drive us all into the poorhouse and Saudi princes and Chinese energy suck up our grand-grand kids chances. Is that the plan?

Energy takes money and politics is the lever of that money when you're talking about society. Think about it.

Not really a fan of subverting science, engineering, and the free market just because of a childish vision of some politician.. Makes it HARDER to arrive at better or optimal solutions.

Political favoritism should stop at basic R&D.. I'd go for that..
