Senator Tim Scott... right on target!!! What have we got after $25 trillion spent on the War on Poverty???

Absolutely
Why aren’t Republicans bringing good jobs in those communities? They would vote Republican forever.

Instead they won’t even enter urban communities

To Trump's credit, he did put pressure on the manufacturers, like the automakers, for instance, to keep manufacturing stateside. Ultimately, this is something the Congress is going to have to address. Maybe have tax free manufacturing in the United States.

AOC acted like any other citizen in opposing $2.8 billion in tax breaks for the wealthiest corporation in the world.
She had no vote in the ultimate decision
LOL!! So NY State lost $30b a year in new revenue, and NYC lost $11b a year plus 25,000 high paying jobs. MORONS.

NY Refused to be threatened by Amazon and give tax concessions that another business would not receive

Why should the wealthiest corporation in the world receive more tax breaks?

"What was hard to survive was Johnson’s Great Society, where they decided to put money — where they decided to take the Black father out of the household to get a check in the mail. And you can now measure that in unemployment and crime and devastation.
Proof?
About 67 percent of black children are born into a single parent household.
Before the great society formation....
A study of 1880 family structures in Philadelphia, showed that three-quarters of black families were nuclear families, composed of two parents and children.[14] Data from U.S. Census reports reveal that between 1880 and 1960, married households consisting of two-parent homes were the most widespread form of African-American family structures

Nationally, about $25 trillion (adjusted for inflation) have been spent to combat poverty since 1964 when President Lyndon B. Johnson's War on Poverty engendered the Great Society.May

You've got to hand it to Democrats. After 25 trillion fighting poverty, the rich are richer and the poor are poorer. And these nutty people want to spend 50 trillion dollars fighting mother nature.

About Tim

Growing up in a poor, single parent household in North Charleston, South Carolina, a young Tim Scott grew accustomed to moving every few years, as well as the long hours his mom worked to keep a roof over their heads.
After failing four classes his freshman year of high school, Tim’s path forward was murky at best.
But thankfully, he had a mom who stuck with him, and met a mentor that showed him the wisdom of conservative principles.
Through their belief and his own determination, Tim got his grades back on track, graduated from Charleston Southern University, and eventually built his own successful small business.

Through the lessons taught by his mentor, Tim developed his mission statement: to positively affect the lives of a billion people. That led him to public service, where he was elected to Charleston County Council, the South Carolina House of Representatives, the United States House of Representatives, and the United States Senate.
Now of course Scott is the exception. No question.
But one of the principles his Mom taught him was to respect authority.
But the old Chinese adage..

How many government handouts have you received evidently in your lifetime?

What is your solution to people in poverty?
Wouldn't you agree that since what we have been doing is backfiring and making things worse, we should do the opposite?

In any event, poverty is not the problem of the rich. Being jealous of and attacking the rich does not end poverty. And, there are many people out there, millions, who just deserve to be poor. We have to own up to that.

Yeah but Scott is a U.S. senator. What has he done to correct the mistakes he claims are ongoing. He stands at around 2 % and he hasn't got a chance especially after his very strange rant about the price of curtains in the last debate. Sadly, Scott doesn't have the right stuff for senator much less president.

Right. Don't disagree about his skill sets, etc. but again... that's not the point!

Scott lived through the lack of a male authority figure as he had just a mother.
His experience is considerable more believable than I would assume you and I had with a 2 parent family.
Here is another FACT that this is been an issue for the last 60 years!
Children who are being raised by a single parent are more likely to participate in criminal activity than children who are being raised by both parents. Juvenile delinquency is ultimately a product of a strained relationship between the parent and child. It is also more prevalent in children who grow up without a father figure.

See video of a 11 year old... most likely a single parent youth!

What have we gotten?

People being able to house and feed their families, healthcare, Educational grants, small business loans, urban enterprise zones…..

What have we gotten out of the tens of trillions we have spent on the military other than wars half way around the world ?

I would rather spend tax dollars on helping Americans than nation building around the world
The Military is the reason our dollar is used as the reserve currency around the world. Change this and you wont be feeding your families. I would rather be helping homeless AMERICANS and Poor Seniors rather then helping Illegals from all over the world to set up shop in the USA; Biden has thrown Americans under the bus.

NY Refused to be threatened by Amazon and give tax concessions that another business would not receive
Why should the wealthiest corporation in the world receive more tax breaks?
Why? To gain 20x more $billions in collected taxes dumbass.

VA is more than happy to have HQ2 and all those high paying jobs and new taxes.

So, we spent $25 trillion to feed the hungry, House the homeless, provide medical care to the poor, offer education and job placement

I can see why Conservatives are outraged

Words to live by…….Teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime

But what do you do when the lake runs out of fish?

Many communities in this country no longer have those jobs that allow people to support themselves. Not just the inner cities but Appalachia, West Virginia, Mississippi, Louisiana…..areas that have been in poverty for generations.
That is why we have social programs

When you subsidize something (or anything) you always get more of whatever it is that you're subsidizing.

Too often this is by design given that there are so many trustees/purveyors of a welfare state in public office.

Remember what your illustrious president said about those "no longer have jobs"...

Biden tells coal miners to “learn to code”

According to Dave Weigel of the Washington Post, Biden said, “Anybody who can go down 3,000 feet in a mine can sure as hell learn to program as well… Anybody who can throw coal into a furnace can learn how to program, for God’s sake!”

A permanent class dependent on the government..

Oh, and national defense is in the Constitution, not a single thing you listed is.
