Talks have been going on for weeks and the plans have been tightly guarded by the negotiators, but Rosemary Jenks, government relations director at the Immigration Accountability Project, said she’s been briefed by multiple people familiar with the negotiations and has been sharing details online.​

She said the current framework includes a right to government-funded lawyers for illegal immigrant children struggling through the immigration courts, and would also expand legal immigration, both priorities for President Biden. In exchange, Republicans have won new limits on attempts to claim asylum and expanded speedy deportation powers, but no significant new restrictions on Homeland Security’s power to “parole” illegal immigrants directly into the U.S.​

Ms. Jenks said the deal, based on those outlines, will do little to derail the unprecedented number of illegal immigrants pouring in.​

“I think we’d be lucky if it didn’t increase,” she told The Washington Times. “There’s nothing in this that I have seen or been told about that stops catch-and-release.”​

Her version of the bill has scorched through conservative circles and activists are now rallying to demand the GOP back out of the talks. Their chief target is Sen. James Lankford, the Oklahoma lawmaker who is serving as Republicans’ lead negotiator.​

This is fine in my opinion but the point is we know where many are...we have for years but we do nothing because lobbyists own politicians from the president on down.

In my opinion, the only reason Trump is touting a wall is because lobbyists who benefit from illegal labor know it won't be effective enough to matter.

I agree. If Republican border governors are going to ship migrants to Chicago there should be federal funds diverted from border security in their states to help pay for it.

Well for one it's the law. People are allowed to come here to seek asylum which most showing people showing up at the border are. Secondly, you don't have the votes to change that law so the best you have is a compromise on increased border funding and increased funding for housing and courts to be able to process these asylum claims quicker. Or Republicans can continue to do what they are doing now which is to sew chaos which only serves to allow more people to sneak in or for asylum seekers to remain here longer waiting for their cases to be heard which honestly is fine by me because the longer they're here and the more chaos Republicans sew the more babies that are born here as full American citizens and the more your demographic demise is hastened.

You have so much of that backwards. Biden is importing third worlders as future voters. Asylum is a fraud as Mayorkas is ignoring current law

Border funding which is a part of
extortion for defending Ukraine's borders is nothing more than an attempt to import more Dem / Socialist voters at a faster pace.

In terms of demographics, you apparently missed the screeching from blacks in inner cities who feel they are being pushed aside as the class of illegals is now the privileged group.
