When in Portugal, I learned to quickly count my change at public transportation kiosks....they always seemed to make counting errors.....and, coincidentally, those errors were always in their favor and my loss.
So,... you believe in coincidences....?
The sort of 'accidents' that always redound in the other guy's favor?
Or....just maybe....there is another mechanism at work.
In our culture, there are some 'accidents' or 'mistakes' that just happen to fit the Leftist paradigm....I've never found one that benefited a religious point of view.
Here's an interesting example, from the famed 'We Are the World" video.....
1. "New 'We Are the World' drops biblically incorrect lyrics"
"I was stunned by the absence of some lyrics that troubled me in the original version....the biblically incorrect lyrics in my blog post,"Mourning the 'Man in the Mirror,'"about Michael Jackson's death:
"Jackson also became a humanitarian during the '80s. He helped organize USA for Africa and co-wrote 'We Are the World,' a huge hit that featured the decade's top singers raising money to fight famine and disease in Africa.
"I've never understood part of the lyrics: 'As God has shown us by turning stone to bread.'
...that line doesn't come from the Bible.
In Matthew 4, Satan asks Jesus to turn stone into bread, and Jesus refuses. I remember some speculation at the time -- at least among my evangelical Christian circle of friends -- that Jackson was influenced in writing that line by his Jehovah's Witness upbringing, but I can't find anything online stating the Jehovah's Witnesses have a different account of Jesus' temptation. If there's a Jehovah's Witness reading this, please let me know your thoughts."
Well, no Jehovah's Witness or anyone else ever responded to me about the matter, but "We Are The World 25 For Haiti" is free of the troubling lyrics.
Maybe gospel music stars BeBe Winans and Mary Mary, participantsin the new recording, pointed out the troubling line sung in the original byWillie Nelson....Perhaps it was Isaac Slade of the Fray, one of the groups featured in my "Spiritual soundtrack of summer '09."
I'm not sure the new "We Are the World" is as good musically as the original version; the1985 participantsdidn't needAuto-Tuned vocals. At least the new version is theologically superior to the original:
New We Are the World drops biblically incorrect lyrics - What Do We Believe
Now, about those 'coincidences.....' and 'accidents- that just happen to fit into the Leftist agenda....
Who owns the media, and pop culture?
Certaunly not religious folks, traditionalists, or conservatives.
Quite the coincidence that the song 'We Are the World' bastardizes the lesson taught by the bible.....kinda like those Supreme Court decisions that turn up into down and black into white, huh?
Quite the coincidence....accident?
Ya' think?
