SCOTUS Nixes AZ Voter Registration Law

(Reuters) - The Supreme Court on Monday struck down an Arizona law that required people registering to vote in federal elections to show proof of citizenship, a victory for activists who say it discouraged Native Americans and Latinos from voting.

WTF is going on in this country??? Why not just let the whole fucking world, including al qaeda, vote for US laws and positions? May as well.

And Native Americans ARE citizens already by birth right so what are they even doing being listed along with latinos that may NOT be?

We need to pass a law to stop Martians from voting!

They're stealing the election! It's a huge problem.

If you don't support a law to stop Martians for voting, that must mean you hate America.

I believe Arizona has other recourses. They could escort aliens away from their states and require eye scans for those who enter the border and the polls.

They could also merely close the borders a week before election time and require eye scans before entering school grounds to protect children from people who have no business being on the school grounds, such as pedophiles and other law-breakers.

Last time I checked, illegal aliens were not US citizens.

The Conspiracy Theory fora are downstairs from here two flights. ;)

There have been exactly as many reported cases of Martians voting in our elections as there are reported cases of voter fraud that would have been prevented by a voter id.

Why is my law a "Conspiracy Theory", yet the Arizona law isn't?

The AZ law is officially trashed.

As it should be.

No, they are prohibited from enforcing the border. The SCOTUS already ruled that only the federal government can enforce the border. If Obama wants to pad the democrat voter roles with millions of illegals - as he clearly does, there is nothing to stop him.

It amazes me when leftists think they are clever..

You're a leftist for a reason, and the reason isn't that you're overflowing with intellect, ya know?

Oh my god! Your ad hom attack cut me so deeply that I almost didn't notice you completely failed to respond to my point.

As it should be.

Should the states be required to provide ballots to all voting precincts in Mexico? Is Texas disenfranchising Chihuahua due to the failure to provide polls and ballots?

Name a single case of an illegal immigrant voting in our elections that would have been prevented by a voter id.

Actually, you don't have to bother; I know that has Never Happened.

I just think its funny when "small government" conservatives suddenly demand "laws" to prevent something that has never definitively happened.

What the fuck are you babbling about?

Never happened?

{(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – When police arrested Joel Santiago-Vazquez last year, they found a stash of powder and crack cocaine hidden in a false bottom of a Pringles potato chip can.

Police also found, according to their report, that federal immigration authorities had "no record of (his) entering the country". A detainer was issued, and Santiago-Vazquez became one more illegal immigrant caught in the crosshairs of the federal government.

But FOX Undercover found out something else about Santiago-Vazquez. He's been registered to vote from his home address in Lawrence since 2010.

Our investigation shows he's not the only registered voter in Lawrence who is not a citizen. By cross-checking Lawrence voter records with criminal records that included records indicating lack of citizenship, we found three others:

* Bruno Paulino is a legal resident detained by immigration authorities earlier this year, has been a registered Lawrence voter since 2009;

* Jose Jimenez, a legal resident who faces "potential deportation to the Dominican Republic", according to federal court records, has been a registered Republican in Lawrence since 2010;

* and Marcos Acosta, picked up during a recent immigration sweep, has been a registered voter in Lawrence since 2008.}

Non-citizens registered to vote in Lawrence, but officials shrug - Boston News, Weather, Sports | FOX 25 | MyFoxBoston

You support illegals voting, you support subverting the process to keep your shameful party in power - but that isn't the same as "there never has been a case."

Did he ever vote? If he did, what evidence do you have that a voter ID law would have prevented it?
