She is 100 correct. The meaning of "left" and "right" are meaningless unless you first assign a standard to compare them. For example, if you use the standard of government control can we then compare left and right.

Also words like "equality", are mostly used to describe economic equality. And since economic inequality has always existed and will always exist, it is more of a term to simply generate political upheaval and activism.

I also have watched the terms describing those on the left change over the years. Once socialism became unpopular, the then switched it to the term liberal. Then when that word was soiled, they switched it to Progressive. I think now they are switching back to socialist now that the term Progressive has become soiled over the years.

It's all about the psychology of terms.

I know I used the term "Progressive", but then, they rule the roost. There is no real opposition party.
