    R. Sargent Shriver, 95, an influential public servant who served as the founding director of the Peace Corps, and whose work as head of the 1960s War on Poverty resulted in the creation of Head Start, VISTA and Job Corps has died. He had Alzheimer's disease.

Sarge was the brother in law of John, Robert and Ted Kennedy and the father of Maria Shriver (Schwarzenegger). Sarge and his late wife Eunice, created the Special Olympics.

A fine, dedicated public servant. Rest in peace Sarge.

It's the most rewarding thing to be a civil servant.

Eunice passed away a little while ago, now Sarge.
