Oh, please! Has it escaped your attention that the terrorists already torture and eventually murder for the fun of it and just because that's just what terrorists do; try to inspire terror. Stopping at waterboarding would certainly indicate a kinder gentler terrorist.

I would encourage our troops to use whatever procedures (including real torture) that seem likeliest to ensure the desired results. Not using torture while they do only encourages them to continue and our troops deserve better than that.

Umm...so it's "patriotic" for Palin to advocate futile and alienating torture of prisoners when her own prez running mate, an honored veteran who WAS ACTUALLY TORTURED brings LIVING PROOF that TORTURE DOES NOT WORK to elicit truth and workable info...
And of course...torture undermines our moral authority, makes us more enemies, breaks the Geneva Conventions, and endangers our own AMerican soldiers by setting precedent that it's OK since we do it...AND it's a war crime for which other nationals (like the Japanese) were executed.

Palin blasphemes a consecrated right of the Lord's holy church by giving it equivalence to a torture method. Fools who would call themselves conservative people of faith applaud this.
I find nothing in the Gospels to support such point of view.

She can argue and defend the right of a state to torture to achieve its goals, but the offhand, flippant equating of waterboarding with baptism is offensive.
