A Russian spy ship is currently conducting surveillance operations in waters near a U.S. ballistic missile submarine base in Georgia, according to Navy officials. “We are tracking the Viktor Leonov’s presence off the East Coast, much like we are aware of all vessels approaching the United States,” said Navy Cmdr. Bill Speaks, a Navy spokesman. “We respect the right and freedoms of all nations to operate in international waters in accordance with international law,” he added. A military official said

Oh no the Russians are coming, they're always off our coast right along with a few other Countries.
I would think if Putin were going to take out the US he sure in the hell wouldn't be skirting the coast knowingly.
They've got missies to make it here safe and sound why risk to many of their soldiers lives..............or maybe they are scoping out the coastal layout lol.

Yeah, but now we’re just one big happy family! Trump invites Russians into the oval office and shares secrets so it’s all good because he’s the president, and he can do that.

Does anybody think you could spot a nuclear sub unless they wanted to be spotted? Anybody think Russians don't have the same satellite technology as the U.S. that can read a license plate from space? The Russians want to be spotted because their propaganda machine plays the willing (anti-American?) minions in the American media as well as the left wing blogs like a freaking violin. They keep the pressure on until the media attacks the President.

In 1968 we went to GQ off the coast of California when sonar reported a contact. It apparently made a series of moves, and even before we had fully maned the gun mount sonar lost it.

Why does your gun mount need a mane? Those things aren't just lion around!

I used to fly with the US Navy (P-3's) and we would often have to try and run them off out on the test range. They were the worst range foulers out there. They had more antennas and dishes on the trawler than you could shake a stick at.
