Planned evacuation follows contradictory statements by Russian authorities that have sparked more questions than answers over the deadly accident

Russia’s atomic energy monopoly, and of the Defense Ministry, have raised suspicions over the severity of the accident and whether officials are covering up details.

...spokeswoman said the evacuation was due to an unspecified “event”

The missile has been tested without its atomic components successfully, said a person close to the Defense Ministry. But the results of testing with the radio-isotope generator have been mixed, the person said.

How about providing a few busses?

That’s what they did for Chernobyl. First they told people to ignore the smoking ruins of the reactor, that everything was safe. A parade and fair was held in the shadow of the smoldering remains. Then someone did the math and realized that everyone in the town would be dead once they reached 1 week of exposure. So they rounded up buses and told people not to bring belongings because they would be back in a few days. They bused people out and told them not to return.

So - they know how to send buses. Maybe the people remember those buses?

From the description of the containment zone, this missile exploded with it's payload attached. This was essentially a dirty bomb... Good thing its payload was not armed... Glass parking lot any one?

They are so lucky the explosion didn't trigger the cascade explosive, which would have triggered the device.
