The Leftists hate him so much because he was always right on.

Bullshit.

Actually I just went and asked Ronald Reagan (who died in 2004 but apparently news travels slow to SinCity). Here's what he had to say:

".............................."

So you are saying that SOCIETY is responsible for the actions of murderers?

That's great news. Now all of us who own firearms are OFF THE HOOK.

"Society" is Reagan's term, but that quote had nothing to do with firearms or murderers anyway (and it's over 40 years old). The title of this thread is a complete fraud.

What "hook" were you on? Or would it be self-incriminating to say?

Ronnie Ray-Gun didn't say a word about these deaths cuz he's dead.

BUT, I do agree with the quote.

Too bad the rw's don't. If they did, they'd quit whining about having to buy their own health care insurance.

Oh wait, Ronnie gave you all lazy freeloading rw's free health care.

Never mind.

Liberals are so anti gun especially after shootings (though of course only of suburban whites, daily black shootings don't bother liberals at all) because liberals have such limp wrists they can't use a gun.

In fact that liberal who tried to shoot up the FRC in DC had such limp wrists the gun fell out of his hands after he shot the guard.

You've just confirmed every theory about guns as a testosterone-poisoned penis compensation. Not that that was any kind of revelation.

I think of it more as a power trip from people who don't have the capacity to confront their issues by themselves and need power tools to blow their problems away. A mentality that has no respect for Life and seeks to overpower everything. The testosterone compensation is definitely in play though, whether there's a penis issue or not.

Either way, at least you were honest here.

Reagan supported tougher gun control laws

WASHINGTON — Three former presidents endorsed legislation Wednesday to ban the future manufacture, sale and possession of combat-style assault weapons as a closely divided House neared a showdown today on the hotly controversial issue.

Gerald R. Ford, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan sent a letter to all House members expressing their support for the measure, effectively joining President Clinton in urging approval of the ban.

Obviously that Reagan quote was not about the school shootings. It's from 1968 and it wasn't about guns at all. The gun nutz are not above taking an unrelated quote from a dead man and twisting his words. Dishonesty seems to be this faction's forte.

"Our nation is agitated by suspicion, hesitant out of fear and aimless from lack of leadership.

We have seen the license allowed to the wicked and abuse heaped upon the decent and the innocent.

Order has broken down on the streets.

Organized rebellion has broken out on our campuses.

The courts approve and often underwrite the very things our individual integrity rejects.

The immorality of it all confounds the mind and exhausts the spirit and worst of all, it disenchants our young...

Eight years ago terror did not stalk our streets and parks and schoolyards. Today it does...

We must reject the permissive attitude which pervades too many homes, too many schools, too many courts.

We must reject the idea that every {time} a law is broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

The answer to poverty is jobs--not welfare, not handouts, but jobs. The walls of the ghetto is economic."

-Roland Reagan, republican platform committee speech on crime, violence and race riots in America. August 1968.

:clap2:

I've got July 31st, but I didn't have the whole speech context. Well done.

Misrepresenting this Reagan quote as being about gun violence was a tactic used by that superintellectual political whiz, Sarah Palin, after Tucson. Nothing like aiming high for your rhetoric.

"Blood libel" and Reagan comment

It's been pointed out time and again that Cons, today, wouldn't vote for Reagan.

pointed out by who?.....lefties or righties?....

My God, the leftists in here are so STUPID, it's beyond amazing.

Reagan made a statement in 1968 about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, which can be applied to virtually ANYTHING in our society, and the best responses the leftists have are to point out that Reagan is dead, and Reagan was only referring to the riots and domestic violence of the 1960s.

There really is no hope for the leftists. They are the REAL zombies.

Reagan's escalation of the War on Drugs actually built walls around ghettos, ie; housing complexes and turned them into Nazi styled operations.

I guess that's irony? Didn't know you had it in you. :clap2:

Of course, "personal responsibility" would preclude taking a 46-year-old unrelated quote from a dead man and selling it as a current event.

Oops.
