Romney's secret billionaire bash

Maybe the socialist left just doesn't get it. All money doesn't belong to the government. The General Service Administration (GSA) just got back from a lavish holiday in Vegas to the tune of almost a Million dollars in freaking TAXPAYER money. The 9th Circut Court of Appeals (the most overruled court in the Country) is planning a conference in Hawaii on the California taxpayer's back. Barry's little holiday jaunt to Norway taking about a hundred loyal campaign supporters to lobby for (no joke) Chicago to host the Olympics cost the taxpayers millions.

So Mitt is having fundraisers and his guests paid their own way there. What's the big deal, isn't that the way it's supposed to be, the candidate and his supporters foot the bill??

What am I missing?? :mm:

Why do the right wing nutjobs troll up every single thread, no matter what the topic, with "Oooo oooo! look at Obama!" trash?
Are the mentally ill? Programmed idiots? Have the IQ's of lab rats? All of the above?

So Obama's hobnobbing, and fundraising with 1%ers is different how exactly? The whole idea of HYPOCRISY is to point the finger at those you oppose, and give a pass for the exact same behavior to those that you support. Got it HYPOCRITE?

Hypocrisy, hardly. To compete Obama must raise enough money to defeat the special interests. Cloney, for example, doesn't seem to benefit personally (that is financially) by his support of Obama; can the same be said for the Koch Brothers or Sheldon Adelson's support for Romney?

In a battle of ideas, Romney will lose hands down. Hence, this election is not about ideas,it's about ideology; Romney is a Plutocrat, he really believes those with the most money are the best leaders, yet he cannot convey why. He must and has done nothing but attack his opponents and promised to cut government (how will that effect the rate of unemployment?), cut regulations (how will that effect the environment and workplace safety?) and cut entitlements (well, fuck the poor, aged and infirm they're not productive so who needs them).

Romney was a one term Governor who repudiates his record and has adopted the ideas and members of the GWB administration, pandered to the social conservatives and begun sabor rattling. He is an empty suit and a dangerous choice if one love democracy, fairness and peace.

You should be happy a moderate is running on the Republican side, it could be so much worse for the Dems, he might be a conservative.

Fishing for ridiculous stuff kind of makes the left look, well........ridiculous.

How was that $36,000/ plate Obama fundraiser any different? That IS THE HYPOCRISY. The only difference is this fundraiser wasn't for your guy... I'd be careful when comparing Romney's experience to Obama's... When Obama entered the WH he hardly had any experience at all... And boy, has that fact proven itself over, and over.

Gosh, your argument is so ... well...uh, not exactly sound, valid or reasoned. Kind of hard to describe since you don't define conservative or moderate (what that means in your mind is unknown), though when modified by your final sentence I suppose Absurd is fitting. What do you 'think'?

Well you think Single Payer is moderate. Uh....I think it's left wing kook. And historically in the US, single payer is well.....left wing kook, hence Obama wouldnt go near it.

Well, your post is clear, concise and wrong. But you're entitled to your opinion, not your own facts. Every adult has experience, President Lincoln had less than Obama, Kennedy too. Nixon has much more than Lincoln, Romney or Obama so maybe you might explain with facts what experience is necessry to be an effective leader.

Include in your response how well Gov. GWB did in his first four years, in terms of foreign policy (defending our borders) and domestic issues. Don't forget, Bush had the support of Dems after Nine-Eleven and Obama had no support from the Conservative Media ("I hope he fails") and the right wing even before he took the oath of office.

Obama reveals who his donors are.

Romney doesn't.

And a MUCH larger percentage of Romney's money comes from billionaires.

80% of all GOP SuperPAC money came from 100 billionaires.

Republicans represent the oil companies and the super rich......that's it.

Last week, the office of Rep. Raul Grijalva, D-Ariz., sent a letter to the Internal Revenue Service questioning the tax-exempt status of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), which has been a sharp critic of Obama administration policies and has received millions of dollars from unidentified donors.

The letter is part of a wide-ranging pro-disclosure campaign by Democrats, who fear that their side will be massively outspent this year by well-funded conservative groups, many of which do not disclose their contributors. Democrats in Congress have introduced legislation aimed at forcing corporations and advocacy groups to reveal donations over $10,000 for campaign-related activities.

The Obama campaign argues that voters have a right to know which corporations and individuals are funding groups that run ads or pay for other activities related to elections. Highlighting Romney's connections to such groups also dovetails with the Obama campaign's broader critique that the likely Republican nominee and former private-equity manager is out of touch.

Obama and his team have made the issue of wealthy donors and transparency a regular part of their campaign message in recent weeks, asking supporters to sign a petition "demanding that these secret front groups disclose for the country exactly who their donors are."
