Romney: Obama won with 'gifts' to certain voters

Romney: Obama won with 'gifts' to certain voters | General Headlines | Comcast

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is telling top donors that President Barack Obama won re-election because of the "gifts" he had already provided to blacks, Hispanics and young voters and because of the president's effort to paint Romney as anti-immigrant.

"The president's campaign, if you will, focused on giving targeted groups a big gift," Romney said in a call to donors on Wednesday. "He made a big effort on small things."

Romney said his campaign, in contrast, had been about "big issues for the whole country." He said he faced problems as a candidate because he was "getting beat up" by the Obama campaign and that the debates allowed him to come back.

Mitt is dead on.

Maybe Romney and McCain will go on a sour grapes pony show tour? Two losers with a dull axe to grind and pony shit to spread.

Republican governors don't agree. They are all meeting for the annual Republican governors conference, and a few of them have already rebuked Romney's pitiful excuse. Bobby Jindal and Scott Walker are 2 of them:

So Romney wasn't happy with the "47%" comment alone. Now he gives the Dems another gift that will keep on giving...Makes Me Proud!:clap2:

"NEAT, isn't it??!!!"

If Every Food Stamp Recipient Voted For Obama, It Would Account For 75% Of His Total | CNS News

f all 47 million food stamp recipients voted for President Obama, it would account for 75.4 percent of Obama's 62.3 million votes.

ood stamps rolls have grown by nearly 50 percent-by more than 15 million recipients-under the Obama administration. During that same time, the unemployment rate has stayed the same. Either those outside of the workforce have been decimated by the Obama economy or this administration is making a conscious effort to get more Americans reliant on government. Or both.

Welfare programs now cost taxpayers a record-high $750 billion. While government "charity" has grown, so has poverty-and so has the Democrats' poll numbers.

Promising to give these people a job is like an electrician promising the inmate to fix the electric chair.

How does Romney explain Obama winning Iowa, NH, Vermont, Minnesota, Wisconsin & Maine?

By his logic, shouldn't Obama have won states with large Latino populations like Texas and Arizona? Or large black populations such as Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia and other southern states?

So you think all food stamp recipients voted for Obama?

The far right wackadoodles hate the idea that the poor have a path to the middle class and want to block their access by taking money from the public schools and subsidizing private schools; raising taxes on the working poor and denying them the right to organize and fight for fair wages. The want to eliminate a minimum wage, Medicare and Medicaid and social security and allow the private sector to exploit the people for profit or deny them of life saving benefits as the CEO's and CFO's see fit.

Why didn't Romney win?

Possibly because he changed his stances so many times from when the campaign started until it ended that no one knew exactly who he was or what he believed (except for the 47% comment).

It was a piss-poor campaign from start to finish.

They can only blame themselves.

No a lot of people who are looking forward to getting food stamps voted for him too.

The path to the middle class is paved with government hand outs.

Are you as dumb as this (and many of your) posts suggest?

Government providing a path to the middle class provides the private sector with an educated and responsible work force; providing affordable health care provides the private sector with a healthy work force. Simplified for the simple

Mitt is dumber than I could have ever imagined. While Republican voter registration had increased since 2008, Romney received less votes than McCain did. What this tells us is very clear; moderate Republicans and Independents either voted for Obama or they did not vote at all. It is true that Obama received even less votes in comparison, but in 2008, everyone knew that McCain was going to lose, so turnout on the Republican side was likely lighter than normal. This year though, Republican enthusiasm was supposedly extremely high with huge turnouts at campaign events in key battleground states like Ohio, yet in the end, less people voted for Romney than McCain.

So what happened? The middle, the moderates were not duped into believing the Romney/Ryan fairy tale.

According to Rush 3 million Reps did not vote because Romney was not conservative enough.
Rush: A number of Republicans are tired of moderate nominees. They've sent the Republican Party money for years and said, "To hell with it. If you're gonna eschew conservatism, I'm not giving you any money, and I'm not voting for you."
We could also have some evangelicals in that group that said, "You know what? I'm tired of the Republicans not reaching out to me. I'm tired of making fun of me. I don't like Mormons."

Romney was trying to play both sides of the party, remaking himself as he went. I think Rush is right about the conservative wing of the party, but he is wrong to believe Reps can win by catering to them. Hard core conservatives are strangling the party on a national level. Now the country is on a fast track to the left because Reps can't figure out that insulting voters is not the way to win them over.

You cannot be serious. Handouts are not a "path to the middle class". Those handouts more closely resemble a ball and chain condemning recipients to indentured servitude for life.

Immie

In other words....you have been schooled. It turns out America disagrees with the right.

Wrong, Romney tried to play nice and wouldn't lay out what Maobama is going to cost the country in a forceful matter of fact manner. Every child born today has a debt exceeding $137,000.00 and counting, Maobama plans to double that. Do you really think people understand that fact?

Since you seem to hate the deficit so much why are you so dead-set against paying it down? Looking for someone else to pay your share?

You think Maobama has any intention of paying down the deficit your more gullable than most of the zombies. He already has plans to continue borrowing what we were borrowing for the war to spend on his so called investments. There is no play to pay down anything, he wants more so he can spend more.

Thinks the government taking even more money from people is for the purpose of paying debt. There's one born every minute. If you were counseling someone who had maxed out several credit cards, would you give them another so they can spend their way out of debt or would you cut up their cards and get their spending under control? Dumbass.
