"Rogue Heroes", a BBC production, season 1 first broadcast in 2022, is (mostly) true story about the founding of Britain's Special Air Service (the SAS).
Initially a fictional unit made up to give The Nazis the impression that England had more units than they really had in North Africa in 1941. It was made reality by junior officers of the Commandos to "give the Nazis hell" ... and, indeed they did.
Instead of sticking to the current trend of creating angsty, morally ambiguous, and painstakingly dull war movies (we're looking at you "Dunkirk") this series shows the British fighting man (as least some of them) and full blown arse-kickers who don't even bother to bring the bubble gum.
From the same team who brought you the excellent series, "Peaky Blinders", this is a genuinely fun series to watch. Oh! A bloody great soundtrack of 40's swing hits!
