I know there are many different viewpoints on resurrection. I believe that because of the resurrection of Christ, all people will be resurrected with perfect bodies. I believe that those who are good in this life will be resurrected as well as those who are bad and that our souls, which consist of our spirit and our body together, will never again be separated throughout all eternity.

I base these beliefs on scripture, including 1 Corinthians 15:20-23, Job 19:25-26, Luke 24:39, 1 Corinthians 15:41-42 and others.

    What do y'all believe?

I believe that basing anything on the bible is crap. You might as well base your belief system on a Harry Potter novel, it's about as realistic as the bible. If Jesus had resurected, do you really think that only the apostles would have seen him and that he wouldn't show himself to everyone to prove his god?

From dust to dust, spirit and body are not one. To me, heaven or anything eternal cannot reside within our own universe or realm, because the changes in that are constant. In fact, we know that this planet will not survive indefinitely. Eventually, the Sun will die out and all life with it. So the Resurrection must entail something completely different; something we do not yet understand.

There are some mysteries that won't be revealed until our Savior comes again. But things that are told to us in the bible we can count on...and that includes new eternal bodies, without defect and immune to illness and age.

When Jesus was resurrected, his mother didn't recognize him...at first. But he still looked like a man, and she did recognize him after he spoke to her. So I don't know how we will look different, but we will still resemble ourselves.

I hope I resemble myself minus a little poundage and about 20 years.

Well, I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days. - Crash Davis

I don't think I'm mistaken when I suppose you haven't read the Bible much. If I am, I apologize, but it seemed you missed the part where he showed himself to others. Many others. Thousands have seen and testified and we have those records. And still more have seen, testified and recorded what they saw but the records have not yet been recovered.

The Bible can be difficult to understand, but that doesn't mean it isn't true. Like many textbooks, it only means that you learn proportionate to the effort you're willing to put in. "True" and "hard" are very different things.

I believe in resurrection. I base that on faith. Guess those who won't, or refuse, to believe will simply be worm food after death.

Regardless, it was only written about way after the facts, 200 to 500 years later depending on the part of the bible, so that even if it's written that lots of people saw the resurrection, that's certainly not proof that 200 years later someone wrote that down. The whole book is total crap, not an eyewitness account.
