Republicans’ "obsession" with work requirements are "offensive" to poor people and could produce a backlash, CNN political commentator Ashley Allison said on Sunday..

She appeared on a panel discussion during "State of the Union" to react to the news that Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., reached an agreement to raise the debt ceiling after months of debate.

McCarthy has argued that while some Republicans were unhappy with the concessions in the agreement, there is "not one thing in the bill for Democrats." One of the Republicans’ concessions, however, included removing work requirements for social programs like Medicaid and SNAP, something that Allison insisted is "offensive

2) Workfare usually ends up being a failure simply because your local government can only absorb so many erratic, irregular workers that need assignments into their system and most of the ones who show up aren't going to do shit.

Same with '' community service'' that's where people work off their jail hours doing things like cleaning city parks. Some come in and do good but I had a lot of jerks and troublemakers. Who ended up in jail doing out of their time.

Half didn't return my phone call, a portion said they'd come out and never did, The few that came out and said they'd do the job never came back.

I came across this elderly black guy who ran his own business from young on. He came out when he said he would, said he'd do the job and actually did, and gave me a pretty reasonable price.

Depends on where you live. In my state, the overall black population is 1.9%, so you see plenty of whites working.

The left are just so insane. If I remember correctly, even Bill Clinton (at the time) passed a bill requiring work for benefits. Now the left want socialism and for the government to take care of even able bodied people.
