Maybe you haven't kept up on all lawsuits and investigations of fraud by the banks & other financial institutions. Quite of a few of the Big Banks have paid fines to stop further investigations, fraud charges and lawsuits.
Secondly, yes people did abuse their credit. Some of those people bought toys and tried to "keep up with the Jones". Others used the credit just to survive a decade of flat wages.
The point is as I have pointed out before, you far righties blame working Americans and don't point a finger at the financial institutions that practiced predatory practices, you defend that group.

Again, there is no such thing as predatory lending. Any more than there is predatory car insurance. Lenders make loans based on criteria and price them accordingly. No one forces borrowers to take these loans and they are documented extensively. I can say this having worked for 9 years as a B/C mortgage originator and sat in on hundreds of closings.

The Dems started their control of Congress in January of 2007, the country went into a recession in December of 2007 after two successive quarters of decreased growth. The first Democratic budget, which "W" signed, started in October 1, 2007 while the economy was already in decline while the country was running on the last GOP/GWB budget.

Court documents, court cases, scientific studies, DOJ studies done by their own party, congressional testimony of computer experts who had been asked by the party to keep voters off the rolls and video of their own people talking about keeping people from voting.
