So, a family with a kid about to graduate high school looks at sending their kid to college. They need $10k in loans a year. That loan is now more expensive. Period.

At one time when smart people ran this country, education was considered national security. I had a National Security loan to help pay for college.

Now, you & your band of morons, want to make education more expensive.,

Why not elimination those deductions for private jets? Why not eliminate oil subsidies.

I put up my education against yours. I hold a masters in mathematics.

I went to school with help from National Defense loans. Back when Republicans valued education. I borrowed 40K and my daughter borrowed a lot for her college education. Both of us used that deduction. The loans are now paid off.

I worry about my grandchildren. Can one attend grad school next year with the Republicans changing how that teaching ass't or research ass't work?

Will my son afford to send my grandson to college in 10 years?

This part of the tax cut is chickenshit legislation. There are hundreds to cut deductions or spending that do not include the education of our future.

The only reason not to continue these is the desire for poor & lower Middle Class people not to become educated. Why do you think that is? So the Donald Trumps can more easily dupe & expand his base?

If you have a Masters in mathematics and your daughter has a college degree, there is really no reason why your grandchildren should need student loans or grants to attend college. I mean what have you been doing with your money? I started saving for my children's college education the day they were born. Each of them will have a nice little nest egg to help them get started and they can work their way through college just the same as I did and graduate debt free, just as I did.

Actually, what has made college more expensive is pell grants and student loans which have allowed a lot of people to avoid getting a job by going to college that they otherwise shouldn't be going to, making seats at those colleges more expensive.

Any reasonable person knows this is true. Every year there are tons of folks in college who frankly have no business being in college, but hey it's free government money, so why not? Better than working for a living. Take away Pell grants and guaranteed student loans and enrollment would drop meaning college costs would drop.

A lot of Republicans aren't very well educated, but even more so a lot of Democrat Minorities are far less educated.
