That is funny because Democrats don't seem to understand the ramifications of high taxation.
Every government program is bloated with fraud, inefficiencies and redundancies. You can cut Medicare and boost benefits to individuals at the same time.
You could cut medicare fraud and inefficiencies by 4 billion and increase benefits by two billion and end up with a 2 billion savings.
So yes, I agree with Trump. But he will NOT cut off those is need.
Insulin to treat a patient was discovered in 1921. (To note, in Canada). The price of insulin in Canada is a fraction of what it is in the US.
Quinn Nystrom, a leader of T1International’s Minnesota chapter, said on May via Twitter that the price of insulin in the United States per vial was $320, while in Canada the same medication under a different name was $30.
American caravan arrives in Canadian 'birthplace of insulin' for cheaper medicine - Reuters
To get to a point........from the same link.
Insulin prices in the United States nearly doubled to an average annual cost of $5,705 in 2016 from $2,864 in 2012, according to a study in January.
Why? Let's take other consumer items. How much less expensive today is a flat screen television from what it was in 2012? There was a lot of costs involved to develop a flat screen television and when they came out they were priced out of the reach of most consumers. The costs quickly came down.
Insulin for the use by diabetics was discovered almost 100 years ago and not by the companies charging such unjustifiable prices in the United States. There is no justification for the continued skyrocketing prices.
Now the "Socialist" Bernie Sanders introduced a bill to allow the "free markets" to work here. His bill would have allowed American's to simply order their prescriptions off a Canadian source.
Sanders offers bill to allow purchase of prescription drugs from Canada
Did the free market Capitalists go for this? No.
Cory Booker Joins Senate Republicans to Kill Measure to Import Cheaper Medicine From Canada
( I used the above link to make an additional point)
The article points out why Booker will never be president and why I will never vote for him regardless of any other positions he takes.
Since we will not allow the free markets to work here, I support making those who will not support that pay for the medicine that people can not afford because of their policies.
So why is Trump not dealing with the fraud, inefficiencies and redundancies if that is the issue? He doesn't need to propose something that isn't going to pass. He could simply do this. Take the issue on and show how savings can be made.
It is his job afterall.
Let's understand something about cheaper drugs in Europe. Firstly, they allow them to be approved with much less oversight which reduces prices. In reality the Governments of Europe do not provide free Health Care. As the cost of Health Care rises, they increase taxes or create new taxes to pay for it. We saw in France that the people vehemently protested the increase of fuel taxes to pay for Health Care. As they say, these Government Social Programs sooner or later run out of other peoples money. The British ran into basically the same issue. Lots of Third World Doctors in these programs. Summing it up, the governments decide what your health care needs not you.
What I am asking is for you to provide proof, an example, of the statement you made about republicans saying you should just die if you can’t afford the medicine. You cant, so you deflect. The idea of creating a narrative that smears conservatives and republicans, a narrative that has no basis in fact, is standard leftwing procedure. The left has no use for the truth and I will point this out at every opportunity.
Me too, though I haven't heard a word from a real Republican in years. Callous conservatives dominate the once GOP, they blame the poor for being poor, and the working poor for being too lazy to improve their station in life.
Nicole Nichols sent an email Monday to each state representative, asking for help in obtaining her diabetic daughter's insulin pump supplies.
State Rep. Jeffrey Guice, R-Ocean Springs, responded, "I am sorry for your problem. Have you thought about buying the supplies with money that you earn?"
State representative to mom: Buy your own meds
Really? Stick around for a while, one of them is bound to blurt it out at some point in this thread.
Republicans are on the take from big pharma. Repubtards extend patent protection like Epi-Pen for Big Pharma while most of their money goes to Republicans in Congress?
