Republican tax cut will not trickle down

.

As government (Republicans') generosity continues to flow to the top 0.1% and Big Business, more and more middle class conservatives will find themselves on the losing end.

As we've seen for years and years, conservatives consistently deny Republican policies have had anything to do with the four decade long economic decay experienced by the bottom 90% of the U.S, population. When confronted with this uncomfortable little detail, conservatives typically blame progressives, the poor, the unemployed, and all the other scapegoats they've been taught by the GOP to hate. And this isn't going to change.

The conservatives' denial or just plain ignorance of facts is becoming unimportant, as Republican politicians make voters irrelevant by placing complete control of our government into the hands of a select group of billionaires.

Unfortunately, when confronted with overwhelming evidence of their errors in thinking, conservatives dig in deeper, arguing their long held (and repeatedly disproved) misconceptions as fact. This can be seen in nearly every politically based thread on these message boards.

The new conservative normal in this country has become: being a Nazi is now patriotic, sex crimes (especially child molestation) are acceptable (but only when committed by conservatives), treason is acceptable (also, only when committed by conservatives), closed-door sessions by congressional committees where lobbyists write legislation is acceptable (again, only when done by conservatives), family values can be varied, or completely ignored when necessary, and mass murder is a valued, and constitutionally protected part of American life.

As we can see, times are a-changin', and for the better... according to conservatives.

It's a good thing for all that the left are a bunch of liars every day all the time. that means that everything they say is wrong and this will trickle down and the economy will continue to improve. History has shown this to be true.

Time to celebrate!
Sure. Time for a fifteen dollar an hour minimum wage.

Are ya a fuken parrot?

Capitalism is built upon a consumption based economy. Reducing the purchasing power and ability of the majority of consumers to buy STUFF negatively impacts total consumption which winds up reducing the GDP, which is bad Juju for the health of that economy.

GHW Bush described Reagan's tax plan back in 1980 as voodoo economics during the GOP campaign for president. It was true then and is still true today. Capitalism, to be successful requires prosperity to bubble up from the consumer to be viable.

Without the consumer directing the economy through consumption of the goods produced in this country, even the upper class can't maintain their high standard of living. It's simple arithmetic!

Wrong direction. Trickle up never works.

Wrong. Giving corporations and the wealthy a tax cut does not mean money is taken from everyone else. Trickle down works, trickle up does not.

Yes it does......because society has less money to pay for education, welfare, schools, roads, healthcare

The rich are consumers, and when they spend $$ they spend a lot of it, that gives work to a lot of people.

What progressives hate is that when taxes go down the money flow is in the hands of the people, not in the hands of the usually progressive government program people.

That and their jealousy of people with more stuff than them.

That's a question of government spending priorities, not government income.

Most of that stuff is the responsibility of the States in any event, and if rich people spend more $$ in most states, that means more sales tax income.

You've just displayed your abject ignorance and allegiance to the 'Right Wingnut Stupid Corps'!

If money is removed from circulation through taxation and transferred from the lower income groups to the highest income groups via an upside down taxation schemes, how the FUCK are the lower income groups going to consume more and more products and goods produced in plants and factories of the highest income groups?

What you envision with your upside down logic is the devolution of capitalism to an oligarchic despotism just a small step above outright feudalism. Wake up, shit for brains!

All the money you give to consumers by force, such as $15 minimum wage, is negated by the increased cost of production and inflation from all that money circulating. It doesn’t work, it’s simple economics.

Say what? The guy who founded a coffee roaster company is suddenly the left's expert on taxes? They must be desperate. How much trickle down did we get during the eight years of Hussein's economic stagnation?

Why won't a fifteen dollar an hour minimum wage not improve the standard of living of labor?

More people spending more money creates demand.

Inflation happens regardless. Only the right wing has a problem when it may benefit the poor.

That position would make sense if profits werent a record highs while at the same time corporations pay record low taxes.
Added to that, wages as percentage of GDP is now at 43 percent. In 2000 it was 47%, and in the 60's it was 50%.

When you look at spending as a percent of total wealth...they spend very little
That is why focusing wealth at the top does very little for the economy
