Republican tax cut will not trickle down

Sure it does

Put money in the hands of consumers

All the money you give to consumers by force, such as $15 minimum wage, is negated by the increased cost of production and inflation from all that money circulating. It doesn’t work, it’s simple economics.
That position would make sense if profits werent a record highs while at the same time corporations pay record low taxes.
Added to that, wages as percentage of GDP is now at 43 percent. In 2000 it was 47%, and in the 60's it was 50%.

Irrelevant. Hey, if you were right we could make everyone earn a million a year. Problem solved right?
Very relevant

The worker is getting a smaller and smaller piece of the pie

It’s irrelevant and your response is even worse. The worker gets his piece of the pie. It’s not the rich’s fault that they make the pie bigger and bigger. You wants bigger piece of the pie? Earn it.

Lets be accurate

They TAKE a bigger slice of that pie
It is the workers who are baking that pie and seeing a smaller and smaller slice

Inflation happens regardless. Only the right wing has a problem when it may benefit the poor.

Not at all true. The right wing benefits the poor every single time it lowers taxes. The DNC never ever benefits the poor.

Great point, Obamacare was designed to help the rich get health insurance.

Solid analysis Billy Bob.

Lame assed attempt at a “gotcha”, lame, stupid, and irrelevant. Strike three you are out moron.

Do you ever wonder how great your life would have turned out if it wasn't for all those poor people holding you back?

But we aren't taxing total wealth, we are taxing income here. If they keep more of their income, which is liquid, they may be more apt to spend it.

Including non-liquid assets in this conversation doesn't work.

Different topic

I am talking about what happens when you put extra money in the hands of the middle class vs the wealthy
The middle class will spend it ( benefitting the economy) while the wealthy will hoard it

So the wealthy throw no parties, buy no cars, no yachts?

They donate nothing?

Again, your real issue is the money chain is outside government control when taxes are lower.

And the middle class is getting a cut here, despite progressive mewling to the contrary.

The left seems to think that the only way the rich can give the poor and middle class anything from the tax breaks is by actually handing them cash. The don’t or won’t think about the new jobs, or the increase in wages. The left doesn’t want reduced taxes to succeed, and they will never admit it when it does, which is always.

What they really want is the money funneled through government, increasing GOVERNMENT jobs which gives them more vote clout, as most of these people are 100% progressive.

Actually, I would like to see more money funneled directly to the workers through increased salaries

For that to happen they need to add more value to the work they produce, or the public needs to accept higher prices for things.

How does raising taxes on the wealthy increase the wages of the people that work for them?

Wrong direction. Trickle up never works.

A small percentage of the workforce works for minimum wage
It would have minimal affect on inflation

History has shown that with past increases

It won’t be a small percentage, it will be ever single working person in the US. You think a professional welder it auto mechanic is going to allow a burger flipper to make the same amount as he or she does? You think a secretary in a doctors office is going to like making less than a fry cook at McD? It will mean an increase all across the board.

Which will reduce buying power across the board, thus making people desire more money.....and the cycle goes on.

Any benefit they get from $15 an hour minimum will be very short lived. In less than a years time they will be no better off than they were before.

Who gives a rat fuck about whether it trickles down.

Poor people need to pay their fair share and stop mooching.

In fact, SHOOT those fuckers!!!

(okay, i keeeek, I keeeed)

Why should I believe you. More people spending more money creates demand.

Yes it will. It will trickle down the Comrade's leg, you know, like it did in the Russian pee pee shower.

How does raising taxes on the wealthy increase the wages of the people that work for them?

The American worker HAS added more value to the product and is among the most productive in the world

Yet, their wages have remained stagnant for 30 years and opportunities for upward mobility has declined

In tough economic times, the worker takes the hit
When the economy gets better, the workers get left behind

The increase in production has been brought about via equipment purchased by the employer and used by the employee.

Labor spending their higher wages is simpler economics.

Yes, it's simple because it's only a part of how economics works and ignores the very important rest of the story. Labor's higher wages increases the cost to make products, which increases the price of goods thus negating the increase in the wages. that's the whole story and is still simple economics.

So what. Inflation happens anyway.

Why does the right wing only complain about inflation when the poor may benefit.

Because, for the 4th or 5th time, the increased wages increases the cost of production of EVERY SINGLE THING one would want to buy. Then the poor are right back where they started.

Why is the left wing so ignorant abut the economy?

Even if those products were made in low wage countries, right?
