Republican Pledge to Cut $100 Billion May Hit Education, Cancer Research

Ok, I added it all up:

$554,745,935,564.67

Ummm, even under your idiotic "across the board" idiocy then, you still have over 600,000,000,000 in deficit.

Not that you actually added anything.

The point that it decreased hasn't really hit you yet.

Like I said, you souldn't rush....but, your doctor's probably already recommended a slower mental pace.

The point that we all know you made the #'s up hasn't really hit you yet

And if your mental pace were any slower, it would be going backwards....very fast

In the governmental grasp for power, the courts, the legislators, and the executives have ALL overstepped the bounds laid out.... the wording and intent in the constitution is rather clear... and THAT original intent to limit the government as to what it is tasked to do, is where we as a society needs to get back to

There is WAYYYY too much governmental spending that is not justified by the limited powers given to government specifically within the constitution

The original intent was stated in Butler. And yes government spending is out of control. We could end Military and corporate aid, but there is no groundswell to do that.

I love the way the wingnuts denied wanting to cut education and cancer research....

.......and then they called for "across the board" cuts :lol:

We need to cut education and cancer spending along with spending cuts in every dept of government!! Some programs can be completely eliminated - Like Obamacare. Defense can shave 10-12% off of the budget without effecting readiness in any meaningful way. Social Security needs to increase the early retirement age to 67 and full retirement to 70 effective immediately. Medicare needs to increase the age to 70- then they both need to index retirement age and benefits to life expectancy. We can sell off land and overseas military bases that we no longer use. etc etc. etc....We need to live within our means. The credit card has got to be canceled.

Liberals and sensitive girlie men may cry and say: "Oh No!! It can't be done!! What about the "poor" and the "sick". "
Well, the Heritage Foundation had a great article on how to cut $343 Billion from the budget right now! No poor or sick people need to be hurt. How to Cut the Federal Budget | The Heritage Foundation

We can do the hard work now, or we can sit back and wait until the CRISIS hits, either way, cuts will have to be made. It is time for Americans to take responsibility for their own lives again. Gov't has a LIMITED ROLE - they are not your MOMMY!!

Repealing health care reform will increase the budget deficit

Wingnuts are going to balance the budget by cutting taxes and increasing govt spending:cuckoo:

Riiiight. There was no Federalist, Anti-Federalist debate and the article under consideration doesn't actually state the truth, that the Hamiltonian view overwhelmingly holds sway in our jurisprudence.

No need for history, the wingnut has a talking point!

Words were specifically chosen, you fucktard.... intent is clear except to those who wish for more power or those who wish for leaders with more power to give them what they want at the expense of others

No need for comprehending how things are written... the entitlement junkie wants free stuff

Words were specifically chosen

And those words are posted. The federal government can pass whatever law to tax and spend in the promotion of the genrral welfare. Period.

intent is clear

No, in the real world, the founders had real differences on their intent, hence the Federalist Anti-federalist debate. The federalist, they pretty much won that one dude.

You really don't read too well do you?

To get my brain to work as slowly as your does, I'd have to hit myself in the head with a baseball bat a few times.

Wrong... wrong wrong wrong wrong worng

It reads that way to those of you who wish to cherry pick phrases and not look at the entire section

....

Amendment 10 - Powers of the States and People. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

You can have it your way... just amend the constitution to state it specifically... simple enough

OK, Mister LiberalLout history professor.

What was the principal argument of the Federalists (you know, the guys who wanted a very strong central authority) against the Bill of Rights?

C'mon...Dazzle us.

I didn't deny it.

The DOE is a farce. Before we had it we were tops in the world. Now that we have it we are down to 28th (I think). So clearly getting rid of it would be a benefit.

Cancer research can be funded privatly. There's plenty of wealthy people that want parts of buildings named after them.

Butler is, without a doubt, one of -if not THE- most ambiguous and cryptic USSC decisions in American history...It's little wonder that purposefully dishonest little scabs like sangha and LiberalLout quote it as though it's gospel.

Ahh, does that disagree with your delusional beliefs in the Constitution Dudley?? That Colorado Koolaide has infected your brain stem. You don't have to like the law, just follow it and STFU!!!
Even Wiki --the lefturds' best friend-- says it's ambiguous and cryptic, numbnuts.

What was the principal argument of the Federalists (you know, the guys who wanted a very strong central authority) against the Bill of Rights?

In broad terms, their argument was twofold...

1. If a government isn't gonna protect the rights of the people, listing them out isn't gonna do any good.
2. If you list out rights, some idiot in the future will claim that these are the only rights the people have and claim that said rights are granted by government.

Note: Those idiots in the future turned out to be "strict constructionist" right wingers who claim for instance that there is no right to privacy because it is not specifically listed in the bill of rights.

I'm glad to give you lessons on actual history anytime you like Oddball. I mean, you are so clearly in need of it. Now, are you willing to accept that the things you previously claimed weren't covered under article 1 section 8 actually are or are you going to continue in wingnut fantasy?

LOL! But I do have it my way and the government does in fact tax and spend to provide for the general welfare all the time. Your idiotic notions would make Social Security unconstitutional because article 1 section 8 doesn't specifically mention Social Security. Try that argument before the Supreme Court buddy. Even with the five wingnuts currently on there, they'd laugh you out of Washington.

I can read and I'm reading another wingnut post that can't identify one program to cut. The only you can cut is an article from a wingnut website

I have already posted proof that the 10th (or any other amendment) places no limits on the General Welfare Clause

But facts don't matter for wingnut. If wingnuts didn't make stuff up, they'd have nothing to say

This one has the "10th Amendment!! 10TH AMENDMENT!!" slogan memorized and he can't stop, regardless of the facts

Even Wiki --the lefturds' best friend-- says it's ambiguous and cryptic, numbnuts.

And Wiki says it's been overruled wrt general welfare being limited by the other amendments.

But I see you're still too stupid to realize that the only ones arguing in support of Butler are wingnuts.:cuckoo:
