Republican party is now the party of aging baby boomers and above

Every proposal I've seen from the GOP grandfathers in the people 50 and older, they're not talking about screwing us over.

As I've pointed out before, the fact that 55-year-olds and up aren't explicitly denied Medicare like everyone else is under the GOP plan doesn't mean that those people aren't affected by the change. The donut hole re-opens, Medicaid cuts slash support to the 9 million seniors who get help from Medicaid in paying their Medicare premiums and health expenses, recently established benefits like the annual wellness visit are eliminated, access decreases and premiums increase as healthier (followed by not-so-healthy) seniors are pushed to abandon Medicare and instead look for private insurance.

And where is just one proposal to fix the entitlements from the democrats? Not one fucking word.

Yeah, not a word. No results from those not-words yet, either.

Here ya' GO......Wiseacre!!!!!!

After an ass-whuppin', like that....you're entitled to some ice.

As long as we are in the generalization business what is the democrat party? The party of old hippies and freeloaders? The anti-family values socialist party? The party of anarchy?

Speaking as a boomer, we might be old but we ain't stupid. The repubs are trying to enact changes to make Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid solvent, which is more than I can say about those butthole democrats. You might want to rethink the "stupid" part. The GOP leadership said they want to end Medicare, Medicaid and throw Social Security to Wall Street. You know, the Wall Street that did so much to help the mortgage market?

How do we know? THEY TOLD US! IN ENGLISH!

Reform means end...huh, learn something new everyday here

Have you always had your head up-your-ass.....or, just thru....

:eusa_eh:

How's the president doing with OWSers lately? All that booing was just a figment of our imagination?

Let's just admit that the president ries so hard to foster relationships with the weakest part of the population. It doesn't even work there.
Hmmmmmmmmmm......and, all this has WHAT, to do, with Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid????

amazing isnt it.

They can say right out loud they want to shrink it so they can drown it in the bathtub and the right wing clones just pretend it never happened.

I just dont understand how anyone can be a republican after what they have done to this country and what they obviously want to do further to this country.

Well, if we're gonna give money to people, should it be the elderly and disabled, who aren't capable of doing as much as they once were?

Or to the young, relatively healthy and able.....but who just dont wanna work or refuse to?

End welfare and food stamps before ending medicare, medicaid, SS.

But we can't pay for everyones shit forever.

Ending welfare and food stamps sounds like such a great idea, until you start to realize that in the end, it would leave the US looking much like Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, or a number of other South American countries where there is a small class of rich, a small middle class, and everyone else is poor. Do we really want to become a country of shanty towns?

Whew!!!!

Don't you Teabaggers fear running-OUT of your stock o' "tags" for the Dems?????

I understand new ideas make your (collective) heads hurt, but you really should learn to pace yourself, when name-calling. Hell, you might have to make-UP.....uhhhhhhh, never mind.

.....And, we know how well THAT goes.....

I notice that all of the talk here about the age of Republicans touches only on entitlement gutting. There's another side of that demographic fact that is encompassed by a slogan we Boomers used to have, back when we were young. It still applies, only with different generations. It goes:

Every day more of them die and more of us are born.

Except now we're "them" and Millennials are "us."

who are looking for government programs in their later years like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. While ideologically they may be in agreement with their party in theory in areas like the size of government over wasteful programs. Their self interests make them defend “their programs” or entitlements that serve their demographic age group.

Republican party demographics against ideology? | Intellectual Bubblegum - Media and Media Analysis

During the next election, after the Republican Primaries, I suspect the truth will come out. The Republican leadership will have to explain what it is they want to do to their base. Possible a new "Contract ON America"?

I'll inform my 18 year old son who registered as a Republican that he is an aging baby boomer.

Really? Is that what the US looked like before welfare and food stamps? I think not.

Did all of them tell you??

Or was it only 6% of them??

The leaders. If the base follows, who cares what anyone else says?

How is it you guys manage to stay so ignorant? You sit in front of the Internet. Instead of asking a really, really stupid question, go find out first.
