Since the launch of Obamacare, fewer than 50,000 Americans have signed up for the private insurance exchanges, far below the 500,000 it needed to sustain itself for the month of October. Democratic politicians are further distancing themselves from this law, as they are seeing it as less of a vote getter than it was in 2012, in 2014. Republicans and Democrats alike are calling for a delay of the law to either repeal repair it. It goes to show you that you can't make such grandiose claims and expect them to pan out.

Fewer than 50,000 Americans have signed up for private health insurance plans via healthcare.gov, the federal insurance exchange website that opened on October 1. The Wall Street Journal reports:

Initial reports suggest that fewer than 50,000 people successfully navigated the troubled federal health-care website to enroll in private health insurance plans as of last week, two people familiar with the matter said Monday.

The early tally falls far short of internal goals set by President Barack Obama's administration in the months leading up to the opening of the HealthCare.gov site Oct. 1, and the low number has worried health insurers that are counting on higher turnout.

Technology problems and design flaws have blocked many users from completing insurance applications or creating accounts to use the site, which serves consumers in the 36 states where the federal government oversees the new health-insurance exchanges.

The administration had estimated that nearly 500,000 people would enroll in October, according to internal memos cited last week by Rep. Dave Camp (R., Mich.). An estimated seven million were expected to gain private coverage by the end of March, when the open-enrollment period is set to end.

The Obama administration plans to release official numbers later this week, and the Journal's reported number of 50,000 does not include those who may have signed up for insurance or for Medicaid through one of the 36 state-level exchanges. It's also unknown what the average age for these enrollees is.

Healthcare.gov is but one of many outlets to get ObamaCare.

So 50K on that site...+ 962,144: Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) Health Insurance Signup Chart

You're missing something. Enrollments. Not sign ups, not applications, just enrollments. It would be wise to look harder before opining.

At the bottom it says:

Vast majority of early signups are via Medicaid, not Exchanges

In first month, the vast majority of Obamacare sign-ups are in Medicaid

If you look at my link, it breaks out private and Medicaid. Still a lot more than your 50,000.

If you are suffering from the delusion that millions of people won't be signed up for ObamaCare over the course of the next year, let me be the first to pop that bubble for you. It makes no difference if it is private insurance or Medicaid. It is a fact that millions and millions of people will have insurance who did not have it before. What are you going to do then? Get a hard-on that only 50,000 people named Wilkie got insurance?

This wishful thinking burying of one's head in the sand to avoid facing reality is a really, really stupid electoral tactic.

Just like in Colorado--250,000 lost their insurance-(after being promised by Obama 32 times that they would be able to keep their insurance)-3,000 signed up for the health care exchange and another 34,000 joined the Medicade rolls.

Now if you can find some kind of success in those numbers--let me know--
