And dats dat. Poor Oakland.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Oakland Athletics’ move to Las Vegas was unanimously approved Thursday by Major League Baseball team owners, cementing the sport’s first relocation since 2005, according to two people familiar with the vote.

The people spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the league had not yet announced the results. A 75 per cent vote of the 30 teams was necessary to make the move, which was endorsed by baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred.

After years of complaints about the Oakland Coliseum and an inability to gain government assistance for a new ballpark in the Bay area, the A’s plan to move to a stadium to be built on the Las Vegas Strip with $380 million in public financing approved by the Nevada government.

The A’s lease at the Coliseum expires after the 2024 season and it remains unclear where the team will play before a new ballpark opens, in 2027 at the earliest.

Las Vegas will become the fourth city for a franchise that played in Philadelphia from 1901-54, moved to Kansas City for 13 seasons and arrived in Oakland for 1968. The new stadium will be the team’s fifth after Columbia Park (1901-08), Shibe Park (1909-54), Memorial Stadium (1955-67) and the Coliseum.

Oakland is more of a welfare/immigration encampment site as well as an open air jail than a city.

Time to leave California.

No brainer.

I bet the players are ecstatic in regards to savings in taxes.

OAK lost the Raiders (twice), The Golden State Warriors and now the Athletics. It used to be a nice location along the East bay with Mountain foothills up above. Before Communism took hold 100%.

I went to a game at the Oakland Colosseum in the late 70s
It was a dump back then.

Oakland made no effort to upgrade their facilities to modern standards

The A's fans have been patient with the owner, Mr. Fisher. Talking about how to destroy the fan base has become a reality as the owner never talked much to his loyal A's fans. Now it shows Fisher never really cared. After 2 decades of trying(?) to find another place in the Bay, the team is going to Las Vegas to retire.

After I wrote the above, I read this...

I went there long long ago. Sat behind home plate. Great Weather. Nice park. Several day on Greens' there also. You are not going to a Ballet. you Fags don't need padded seats for a freakin' ball game. Get up and walk around the concourse if you don't like it.

I don’t expect customized seating

I would like to see it cleaner
