I don't kick people when they are down and I try not to judge. Anytime someone complains to me about the "welfare case" who is buying beer at the end of the month, I remind them of the massive waste of any number of particular government agencies and their employees. In Canada, these government agents are often making more in a couple of days than anyone on welfare makes in a month, plus pension, benefits and other overhead. Furthermore, the person on assistance is only doing harm to themselves and not others...

This said, people want dignity. You give people opportunity and hope and they will generally respond positively. If they can contribute and be independent it is better for society, their own health and well being. This is why neo-communists and crony capitalists are a far greater threat as they don't want potential of others to rise to the surface, they prefer you to be "nice and dependent".

Good for K.C. They are producing future generations of conservative voters and free thinking citizens who might just understand what is at stake if America fails.
