That's not the title of this blog but it's the core. And, it's crucial.

If Hillary is elected and serves two terms,” the Daily Beast predicts, “the odds are strong that today’s 5-4 conservative majority … will be, by the time she left office in 2025, changed to a liberal one.”

Keep in mind that in the coming few years there could be at least three vacancies on the Supreme Court. And all it would take to upset the precarious balance between the Second Amendment as the law of the land and the Second Amendment as history is one vote.

And, it's not just the 2s Amendment. It's ALL of our freedoms. And the loss of Congressional oversight as presidential powers become dictatorial.

And an important truth is that given the power of the Supreme Court and lower federal courts over our liberty, we must stop Hillary’s bid for the White House. We must elect a president who will fill court vacancies with men and women of principle who are dedicated to liberty and to the U.S. Constitution which guarantees that freedom to all Americans.

The Supremes over the last 35 years have been giving govt. the authority to deny citizens their Constitutional rights. What's new?

The fact is that Trump's picks will be centrist at the very best and way left of center at the worst.

HRCs would be left of center at the best.

NO, the crucial thing is to make sure that Nazi you guys nominated doesn't blow up the world.
Uh, actually, guy, he is a loon not a Nazi.
No, actually, guy, he's a Nazi. Deal with it.
Um, actually, he is not, guy. You will have to do more than give your mealy opinion.

The 2nd Amendment isn’t going anywhere:

Here is what has to happen for the 2nd Amendment to go away:

Step 1: Proposing An Amendment
Either Congress or the states can propose an amendment to the Constitution.

  • Both houses of Congress must propose the amendment with a two-thirds vote. This is how all current amendments have been offered.
  • Two-thirds of the state legislatures must call on Congress to hold a constitutional convention.
Step 2. Ratifying An Amendment
Regardless of how the amendment is proposed, it must be ratified by the States.

  • Three-fourths of the state legislatures must approve of the amendment proposed by Congress, or
  • Three-fourths of the states must approve the amendment via ratifying conventions. This method has only been used once, to repeal Prohibition with the 21st Amendment.
Is there a timeline for ratification? The US Supreme Court has held that ratification must happen within "some reasonable time after the proposal." Since the 18th Amendment was ratifed, Congress has set a term of seven years for ratification.

Only 33 amendments have received a two-thirds vote from both Houses of Congress. Of those, only 27 have been ratified by the States. Perhaps the most visible failure is the Equal Rights Amendment.

One will note that the Supreme Court has no role in overturning/ratifying your constitutional rights. Your gun rights under the 2nd Amendment are going nowhere.

What is true about the OP is that “common sense gun laws” such as the “no fly/no buy” mandate can be passed by Congress and signed by the Executive. It would do you well to understand Trump’s position on the “no fly/no buy” mandate:

TRUMP: First of all, I agree, and a lot of people even within my own party want to give certain rights to people on watch lists and no fly lists. I agree with you, when a person is on a watch list or a no fly list -- and I have the endorsement of the NRA, which I'm very proud of, these are very very good people, and they are protecting the Second Amendment -- but I think we have to look very strongly at no fly lists and watch lists, and when people are on there, even if they shouldn't be on there, we'll help them, we'll help them legally, we'll help them get off. But I tend to agree with that, quite strongly.

So you’re stopping nothing by electing Trump. Their stances on firearms are pretty much the same in this case. I think it’s pretty obvious that HRC would rather see more restrictions THAN Trump but neither is for total freedom in this case.

SCOTUS and Congress are quite clear that the possession of firearms can be regulated.

Yes, the Supreme Court is stake. So why did you ever nominate such a dildo as Trump? The GOP has effectively committed suicide with that pick. Rebuilding the GOP after November will be a bitter and prolonged fight between conservatives and "Conservatives".
