a general question: I have to ask, as a democrat, why do you think that Oil subsities, off shore tax havens for corporations, tax cuts to millionairs and billionaire , be the holy grail in have no cuts in the budget talks. Heck, shut her dow, Democrats need some back bone.

The baggers don't want a Budget passed. They want an "All in One" bill. If Beaner allows a shutdown to happen the GOP loses...again. All the polls say the American people know who is to blame.
Oh, when this is all over, the public will find out quickly about all the riders that the Baggers attached. They will quickly understand that they House did not pass a budget. They passed a document that sought cultural changes. The hold up is not numbers. It is the rider attached. All the polls tell us that the public is already begining to understand what the GOP and Baggers are doing.
It is sort of like what Walker did in Wisconsin. He pushed a bill under the false pretense of a budget when he really just wanted to bust the union. He did this while he was awarding a job to a kid with no degree, who just happened to be the son of a large campaign donor. Can you say Sleeze?
By God, I think that we should give the Teabaggers exactly what they wish. Shut the damned government down. Send the Air Traffic Controllers home. Do not send out Mays SS checks. Start bringing all military overseas home. Just leave the equipment there, we don't have the money to maintain it in any case. Close down the FBI and the Border Patrol. Same for Homeland Security. No money goes out to anybody for anything at all after Friday from the Federal Government. That includes Congressional and Executive salaries.
Yep, shut the nation down, really show the whole world what a peice of work these people are.

The Republicans have done their job. They Run the House of Reps, they have written, submitted and passed a budget. They have been waitng 45 days for the demonRats in the Senate to do the same. Now obie wan says he will veto the Republicans and shut down the government, which he says means he will choose not to send the soldiers their paychecks. That's some damn cic innit? He will refuse to send the troop their paychecs while at the same time he has them fighting three wars. I think the American people will get the signifigance of that stupidity.
The Democrats and Reid have rejected the bill. The Republicans have come forth and tried to address the current problem. The Democrats are the ones not making an effort. They are perfectly happy to sit by and watch as the government shuts down as long as in the future they can either get what they want or prevent others from fixing fiscal problems. If the Democrats really wanted to work this out then they would compromise and make this happen.
If the dems really cared the troops, as their bumper stickers tell us they do, they'd bring them home.If the GOP really cared about the troops, they would have presented Dems with a continuing resolution that only keeps the gov't operating and funds the troops....

You hope. The fact is most Americans are not stupid and that includes most conservatives. The Republican Party is on a 'death trip'; it's sad to watch the party of Abe, TR and Ike devolve into a far right authoritarian fringe of its former self.
