Reid rejects House extension

Yes, I agree, and the Democrats are blaming the Tea Party for their own inability to compromise with Republicans. Which is very childish behavior on the part of Democrats.

Wait a second. Are you saying that it's NOT the tea party that has been the problem? Boehner was ready to scrape together the votes to pass a budget that satisfied the agreed upon compromises. But it's the tea party (and admittedly Boehner's own fear of them) that is causing the problem. They won't agree. And if they won't sign on, he won't because he's afraid of losing their support. Right now the real battle is an inner GOP one. Boehner knows that they need to avoid a government shut down. He's already said that it will benefit the Democrats. He's trying to appeal to their good sense. Unfortunately, the tea partiers usually don't have any good sense. The hold up here hasn't been between GOP and DEMs. It's GOP v GOP.

No budget deal yet as shutdown looms and key meeting set to start - CNN.com

Well, it looks like the Tea Party is getting their wish. A shut down is imminent. The riders they have attached are the reason. Batcrazy Bachmann can celebrate!

Which riders are unreasonable and why?

Here are a few:

Riders on the Budget Storm

The baggers don't want a Budget passed. They want an "All in One" bill. If Beaner allows a shutdown to happen the GOP loses...again. All the polls say the American people know who is to blame.

yes, they blame them almost equally.

and as far as riders go, the 1 week extension was absent almost all of them...and so what? Money is money.

We are borrowing 4 BILLION a DAY, hello, even if we got the 60 Billion cut, thats only 15 days of savings......I 'suspect' you are a doctrinaire democrat , there is nothing you really are willing to cut, is there?

LOL.... So basically the Tea Party (American Voters) holding our Representatives accountable for their collective actions as our Representatives is a problem?

Good God no wonder why the Left is completely out of control.

Politicians sport are not so sort of God's as the Left likes to portray them they are representatives to our will I know the left would like to forget that fact.

The Democrats and Reid have rejected the bill. The Republicans have come forth and tried to address the current problem. The Democrats are the ones not making an effort. They are perfectly happy to sit by and watch as the government shuts down as long as in the future they can either get what they want or prevent others from fixing fiscal problems. If the Democrats really wanted to work this out then they would compromise and make this happen.

Did you just wake up? Dems have done all of the compromising. They have agreed to 70% of the GOP's cuts. How is that not a compromise? Getting 100% of what you want is not negotiating.

demonRats didn't pass a budget for the year 2011 AT all, notice none of the DUMBBots on this site will address that fact? Welldidyahuh?

Well of course Reid is going to fight for all the government controlled programs, like planned parent hood. Must make all tax payer's pay for abortion, instead of just those that are for abortion.
Must fight for government control, after all it took the lefties 100 yrs. to get where they are and hard fights for the last 45 years.
I told you that the left is going to fight hard. They don't want a smaller, more efficient government.

:lol::lol: Wow, you're a delusional one. The teabags don't represent Americans. They represent the extreme right of the Republican party. And their popularity is even lower than congressional Dems and Repubs. Try again.

Listen to something other than Limbaugh and you might get a clue. There is no fed funding of abortion because of the Hyde amendment. Plus, abortions make up a small percentage of the services that PP provides for low-income women.

The TEA Party represent the 50% of Americans who actually pay FEDERAL INCOME TAX in other words they represent the GIVERS....... and there is noting extreme about them except in your little pin prickly mind. They've had enough of you demonRats pissing away all the money and screaming for more more more.. you ain't nothing but the TAKERS.

This is disingenuous nonsense.

The Dems have increased total government spending by approximately 33% since 2007. There is no budget for this year, but forecast for outlays is in the range of $$3.7-$3.8T. The One Time Stimulus of $1B has now been baked into the baseline (despite promises to the countrary), so the eensy cuts the GOP is seeking still leave monumental growth of government spending in place.

What the Dems are doing is the equivalent of somebody being caught stealing $1,000, and then offering to give you back $700 if you don't call the police.

LMAO!!! The Tea Party is the Extreme right HAHHAHAHAHAHHAAH great meme dingbat but not even close try again.

I have to laugh at the lefts attempt at smearing the Tea Party who's members include Dems that are sick to death of an over reaching Government brought on by the extremists on the Left.

What you are seeing with the Tea party is a direct reaction to the Left's intrusion into every facet of our lives through a massive out of control Federal Government.

The Tea Party isn't going away it will however continue to grow as the left attempts and implements its agenda against our Nation.

Actually I think GE crawled up obie wan's ass.. don't you?

Note how EVERY SINGLE DEM keeps demonizing the Tea Party as extremists who are causing the shut down.

And now Reid just said that "Federal workers are just like everybody else working paycheck to paycheck, wondering if they can afford the new car they've needed for the past two or three years".

Oh puhleeze. Other people who are furloughed from jobs do not get paid for the furlough period.
