Those claims are factually inaccurate. The first ignores the distinctions between the first and second formations of the Klan, since only the second can be accurately described as having origins in a "fraternity," whilst the first was openly dedicated to militant violence after its quick formation by Confederate veterans. Even the second included a broader scope of bigotry, incorporating anti-Semitism and anti-Catholicism into their ideology.

The second is merely an assertion without any supporting evidence. After I elaborate on the fact that the Panthers at least had more noble roots in that they were initially founded for the purpose of armed self-defense (whereas the first Klan was founded specifically for the purpose of combating elements of Reconstruction that involved an abandonment of racial segregation and the second in response to white aggression against perceived encroachment by racial, ethnic, and religious minorities). They thus had no initial goal of unprovoked aggression that the Klan can claim, and tolerated such a wider spectrum of political beliefs and ideology that many were merely socialist members with little to no allegiance to black nationalism.

Bullshit! The KKK has (and probably always) been about white supremacy since it's inception and was offensively violent because of "perceived" threats from minorities. The Black Panther Party for Self Defense was originally founded because of the injustices from the police against black Americans like the water hose sprayings and the K9 attacks.
