every change in the past forty years has gone to prosecutors advantage. we have allowed it. Even if you have a million dollars for defense the prosecution has more to fight you with. IDk how to get it back into balance but it needs done soon.It is funny how each side calls th eother side idiots on this issue when there is not a clear easy solution to balencing the rights of the accused with the need to protect the public. Maybe some things we can change is some of the sentancing. Like in Ohio if you get caught driving with an expired lisence you can get six months in jail and upto $1000. Kinda crazy on what can be given to you. I get arguments like they never dole that out. Well if it is never doled out why allow it to be that bad in the first place. Six months in jail is a large economic impact for forgetting to renew your drivers lisence. In some counties a six month sentance for some thing so stupid can be a death sentance. Many counties have gang problems in their jails. Some things need changed for sure.Idk if you've ever been witness to a jury selection..but lemme tell ya. It is not weighted towards the defendant.
2/3 weighted towards the DA, whether right or wrong.
