Pull down all MLK statues

As I've pointed out in a similar thread, the bed wetters are trying to erase all of the history of democrook slavery, including destroying the statues of Lincoln, abolitionists, black union soldiers, U.S. Grant and other monuments. MLK would not be a famous person if it wasn't for the democrook oppression of blacks, so you can bet that one day, they will be marginalizing his memory and tearing his monuments down.

I won't even be surprised if there is a movement on the left to relocate blacks to africa. It's been on the democrook back burner for decades.

Then "we" (loosely put) would be as bad and hypocritical as "they" are... Just make the case straight that people are flawed for various reasons.. None the least of them is historical context and blaming folks for what WAS the "norm" of older societies...

I don't blame the Indians for leaving old folks to die on mountains... Shouldn't be blaming TIME AND CULTURE for not complying to our rearview mirror picture of people past..

Martin Luther King statues are monuments to .,. to mass stupidity. Really? MLK was just a first of many demagogues.

King was fucking other women while his wife complained he was not around her enough.

But he didn't own slaves.
Or advocate the ownership of slaves.
He was never a traitor to his country.
He never advocated taking up arms against the government.
And of course there's that noble peace prize thingy.

MLK wasn't perfect. He was a deeply flawed. If you want to take a statue down, do it democratically with everyone's permission using the democratic process. Is that too hard for you to figure out?
 
Great men make great mistakes and, with greatness, overcome them.

The OP reminds me of the parable of white guys at this IVY league school that wanted to form a "white" student union because there was a "black" student union. They put flyers up all over campus about a formation meeting they were going to have on Tuesday at 8:00.
The humanities professor went to the meeting and listened politely in the back of the room. When the floor was open for question, he stood up and asked the leader, "Why do you want to form this union."

"Because blacks have theirs."

"And that bothers you?"

"Yes" was the leader's response

"Why"

"Because it's a racist organization" the leader responded.

"Well, that makes sense." The professor said. He picked up his coat and hat and walked toward the door out of the conference hall. He had almost made it to the door when he was pushed aside by every other attendee leaving the meeting except for a few.

And he lied and was a demagogue and cheated on his wife and got a Nobel peace prize for it. That's good?

What you left out is WHO would get a vote? The town with the statue? The state with the statue? Or the country with the statue?
 
I like MLK but he is a deeply flawed as Thomas Jefferson. In a democracy you NEVER do stuff on a whim because you feel empowered , that is fascism. Ask the rest of us FIRST. What the MAJORITY wants, not boisterous loud-mouthed tiny minority.

Jefferson wrote:

Yet he owned slaves, denying them their liberty, and was a hypocrite to claim all men were created equal.
 
Lets say some of us find...MLK offensive. Do we then have a right to tear down his statues without asking? Without say a referendum or popular consensus ? We get on self righteous tear, MLK was an empty valueless demagogue race baiting philandering intellectual plagiarizing fraud? Get him! Nobody is doing that..not yet.
