Wow! I wasn't aware that they brought "The Outer Limits" back in the 90s-2003. I was a fan in the 60s. I didn't see any of the newer shows.

I loved the original Outer Limits series I think I watched all of them.

I bought the whole series on DVD years ago. I remember watching it in the early 60s--- used to leave me with my hair standing on end. There was hardly a single bad episode, I think the only one I didn't like was where they captured an intelligent fish in south America.

The new series falls so far short of even equaling the original show that it is an insult they call it by the same name. Night Gallery is much better than the new Outer Limits. The original show gave me nightmares as a kid.

The pilot episode of Night Gallery had me hiding under my blankets, but not willing to turn it off!

The Sandkings is my favorite Outer Limits. It was the first and second episodes of the Showtime series. After that I was hooked. I got a showtime subscription just so I could watch The Outer Limits.

There were many classic Twilight Zones and of course, TZ was cutting edge because it came first, but in actuality, I thought Night Gallery was an overall better series, the best episode IMO was where a guy was given a drug which turned all his bones to rubber and he crawls around the house leaving grooves in the wood. But in absolute terms, The Outer Limits was magnitudes better than anything Rod ever did, it was sheer horror science fiction and to this day, if you get buzzed and get into one of its episodes, it leaves you creeped out that you are afraid of the dark and listening to every creak in your house afterwards.

Part of what added greatly to the show were the sound effects and fantastic musical scores invoking dread, horror, and eeriness. The new show has none of these qualities.

The makeup man who did Outer Limits was the same as that used on Star Trek.

I think that was actually a Twilight Zone episode although I have to admit I remembered it as an Outer Limits episode also!
