President Trump can start laying off furloughed workers after 30 days

CONFIRMED: President Trump Can Start Laying Off Furloughed Workers After 30 Days With 'Reduction In Force' Procedure - Big League Politics

AWESOME! Let's start reducing size of government! I got a feeling this was part of the plan from the beginning! Shrink the hell out of government!

So much for your stupid far right wing wet dream...

Bill Announcement | The White House

S. 24, the “Government Employee Fair Treatment Act of 2019,” which requires the compensation of government employees for wages lost, work performed, or leave used during a lapse in appropriations that begins on or after December 22, 2018, and entitles excepted employees to use leave during a lapse in appropriations.

That has nothing to do with the OP.

That has nothing to do with the OP.

It has everything to do with the OP. For the RIF to be applied workers have to be in a "non-pay status" for more than 30 days. Fed workers are in a "pay deferred status" not a non-pay status.

Also, the RIF does not apply to Emergency furloughs.

21.6 Emergency Furlough: A furlough because of lack of appropriations or lack of work due to unpredictable events such as natural disasters, fires, etc.

21.7 Furlough: The placement of an employee in temporary non-duty and non-pay status for not more than 30 consecutive days or 22 nonconsecutive work days during the twelve (12) month period beginning the day after the effective date of the furlough. For furloughs of more than 30 consecutive days or more than 22 nonconsecutive work days see Article 20 (RIF) of this Agreement.

And by the "President is trying to reduce it", you mean DOUBLE it since taking office.
How the FUCK are you people so ignorant? Seriously. No wonder your propagandists are able to get you to drink the Kool-Aid so easily!
Trump added 1.38 trillion dollars to the debt in 2018 and you think he is trying to reduce the deficit?
Fuck, you are stupid.
WHEN TRUMP ADDS TO THE DEFICIT HE'S ACTUALLY LOWERING THE DEFICIT HE'S THAT SMART I TELL YOU

MAGA BUILD THE WALL DITTOS

You're right. The Democrat controlled House has been in charge of the purse strings for an entire week now. Why are they moving so slow?

------------------------------ just guessing of course but i'm also thinking it was part of the plan and a said so a few weeks ago as the GOV was getting ready to shut down Odium .

Surely he has the sense not to hand the Dems a gift like that.

Right?
By now you KNOW President Trump doesn't care what the leftists think,he does what is best for the country and shrinking government is best. How many of these workers are already gonna be looking for new jobs anyways.
Trump does what's best for himself & his mob, dickweed.:1peleas:
This guy also a few weeks ago posted some bullshit about the reckless deficit. President is trying to reduce it, and the dumbass is still bitching...PTDS..

Trump added 1.38 trillion dollars to the debt in 2018 and you think he is trying to reduce the deficit?

Fuck, you are stupid.
The prime rate increases helped that also with added interest. Prime rate increase should have occurred when Obama was President. And as the deficit, we talk and talk and talk and do nothing. For decade after decade.

You fundies only take credit and never blame. You're petulant children.

Man up for a change and take some responsibility.

AWESOME! Let's start reducing size of government! I got a feeling this was part of the plan from the beginning! Shrink the hell out of government!

Here’s where your plan is going to fail. It won’t be much longer that people are going to realize that they do need government and not only will it not shrink but be expanded. Haven’t you learned by now that right wing genius ideas always fall flat on their face?

Which workers would you like to see unemployed? Which services should be eliminated?
NASA- Tesla has shown they can do just as good of a job NASA can no reason to keep funding that when a private company can do the same thing
TSA-Should be a state or private company thing
U.S. Agency for global media-WTF we need this for?
Peace Corps- WHY is the government paying for this? PLENTY of rich folks who like helping the poor in other countries let them pay for it
Holocast museum-shut it down personally or just let a private entity control it
National Gallery of Arts and the National Endowment for the arts-again we should not be funding art and music let private entities do this.
As for almost ALL other agencies slash their budgets AND how many workers they have.
The Republican Party in the Trump Era...

"Proudly changing America from Bedford Falls into Pottersville, one sick, hungry child at a time, since 2017"

The plan fails because these morons trust their fake news sources and never check out the stories themselves.

Here is what that actual labor contract states:

21.6 Emergency Furlough: A furlough because of lack of appropriations or lack of work due to unpredictable events such as natural disasters, fires, etc.

21.7 Furlough: The placement of an employee in temporary non-duty and non-pay status for not more than 30 consecutive days or 22 nonconsecutive work days during the twelve (12) month period beginning the day after the effective date of the furlough. For furloughs of more than 30 consecutive days or more than 22 nonconsecutive work days see Article 20 (RIF) of this Agreement.

You will notice the shutdown falls under the "Emergency Furlough" which has not RIF contingency.

Also, even the RIF contingency states the person must be in "non-pay status", which is not the case since the POTUS signed a law to pay them when it is done, so they are in a "pay deferred status", so the RIF does not apply.
