Our agreements made the U.S. the wealthiest, most powerful nation in the history of mankind. You want our labor force to start making sneakers and digging up obsolete coal?

"Old agreements" made the US wealthy, latter agreements took companies and jobs out of the US. We became a consumer nation, rather than a major producing nation. The number of people sucking on the government teat expanded as jobless numbers climbed, especially in the inner-cities. Our "labor force" actually needed "labor," whether it is making sneakers, producing steel and aluminum and other products. Black unemployment was high and now that companies have been returning, it has vastly improved.
